Sometimes the best "office" is a patch of grass and some sunshine! ☀️

🌿I decided to take advantage of this gorgeous weather today and moved my therapy sessions to the park.

There’s something about the fresh air and Vitamin D that makes the breakthrough moments feel even more grounding.

So grateful for the flexibility to work outside and soak up every bit of this sun! Back home now for a brew, some paperwork and a cuddle with Puddin 🐕

✨How are you making the most of this beautiful day?

🌿 Week One of Roots for Resilience 🌿
Tonight we began our six‑week journey with the Tree Metaphor, exploring the roots that shape who we are — the influences, experiences, strong foundations, and the tender ones we’re learning to honour.

The garden was beautifully peaceful, filled with birdsong, and some of the group enjoyed the dusk chorus while working together in pairs. We set intentions for where we hope to be by week six — what we want to see, feel, and hear in ourselves by the end of the course.

Another lovely evening spent with fab folk at The Coach House, full of rich conversations and genuine connection. 🌱✨

What a lovely way to finish the week! We spent the morning having a go at macramé with the brilliant Carers Link ladies.

Judging by some of my facial expressions, I definitely found it a bit of a challenge… but luckily we had the most patient teacher keeping us on track. Thank you Gayle.

And the best bit? Ann’s legendary cheese and onion pie 🥧 🥧 🥧 waiting for us at the end. A morning full of laughs, knots, and good food.

🧠 Connected Minds Peer Support – last night.

Yesterday we met for our Connected Minds Peer Support session — a gentle, welcoming space for people who are neurodiverse, or who have a neurodiverse family member. This group brings people together to talk, share experiences, and support one another.

A reflection from last night that really stayed with me:
“It’s good to talk to other people who get it and understand what I’m going through.”

Our next session is on Tuesday 14th April, from 6pm–7.30pm.
The kettle will be on, and you’re very welcome to join us.

🌱 Final Session of Roots for Resilience – Series One 🌱

This afternoon marked the final session in the first series of Roots for Resilience, and what a gorgeous six weeks it has been.

Today we explored seeds, planting intentions for the future, gentle goal‑setting, and taking time to reflect on just how far everyone has come since week one.

It’s been wonderful to witness the connections formed within the group, the insights shared, and the courage shown along the way. It’s genuinely been a privilege to deliver this course. Thank you to everyone for your thoughtful feedback today and for joining me on this journey over the past six weeks.

We even braved the garden this afternoon — a little chilly, but such a rich and grounding resource that complements this course perfectly.

🌿 Next course starts next Wednesday evening!

If you’re interested in joining the next series, it begins next Wednesday from 6pm–8pm, running for six consecutive weeks. You can book your free place online via Friends of Rhyddings Park — link below.

What a brilliant night at Laughter Club tonight. Our theme was all about looking on the bright side, and the energy was incredible. 😂

It was so wonderful to see some familiar faces back in the circle—you were missed!

There’s nothing like a good belly laugh to reset the soul and remind us that better days are always ahead. ☀️💛

📅 Save the Date: We will be back in two weeks on Monday 23rd March 2026. Can’t wait to see you all then!

🌟 Laughter Club – Tomorrow Evening at 6 pm🌟

With so much doom and gloom in the news right now, our laughter sessions are all about shifting the focus back to the good stuff — connection, joy, movement, and those small moments that lift the spirit.

Laughter Yoga doesn’t involve any yoga poses at all. Instead, we use gentle yogic breathing between each laughter exercise so we don’t over‑laugh and so everyone gets the full benefits. It’s a simple, playful way to relax the body, calm the mind, and boost your mood.

Most people leave feeling lighter, more connected, and often enjoy a really good night’s sleep afterwards. It’s also surprisingly good fun and a bit of a workout. You can do as much or as little as you want, and everything can be done seated if that’s more comfortable.

If you’d like to join us, you can book online using the link below.

A little reminder:
✨ Wear something cool and comfy
✨ Bring a drink — we can get quite warm!

Come and give yourself permission to laugh, breathe, and feel good for an hour. You deserve it. 💛

🌿 A gentle Sunday at the Coach House 🌿

Today marked the last of six Sunday morning sessions at the Coach House, where I’ve been helping to facilitate Understanding and Managing the Impact of Trauma, a course led by Consultant Psychologist Steph.

Over the past six months we’ve explored so much together — from safety planning and the impact of trauma on the body, to emotions, thoughts, behaviour, sense of self, understanding triggers, and our survival responses.

This morning we wrapped up with a thoughtful review of the course and some truly lovely exercises focused on connecting with the compassionate self… all accompanied by birdsong drifting in from the Kitchen Garden.

It’s been such a gentle, nourishing way to start a Sunday. I’m coming away with even more insight into trauma and its many layers, and I’m looking forward to weaving what I’ve learned into my work.

Feeling grateful for the space, the learning, and the people who made it what it was. 🌼

Today was Week 5 of Roots for Resilience and we were blessed with clear blue skies over the kitchen garden — the kind of light that makes everything feel possible.

Our focus this week was “what we want to grow”: a habit, a goal, a quality, a feeling, or a way of living that we’re ready to nurture. We spent time imagining what life will look, sound, and feel like when that growth has taken root — the small signs, the shifts, the moments of “oh… I’m doing it.”

We also named the pests that can nibble away at our progress:

🪱doubt worms
🐛overthinking caterpillars
🐝comparison wasps

And we explored how to manage them by spotting the unhelpful thinking patterns behind them and choosing kinder, more balanced alternatives.

A gorgeous afternoon, a thoughtful group, and a reminder that growth is rarely loud — it’s steady, intentional, and absolutely worth tending. 🌱
