Why being an Aesthetic Nurse matters…
As a nurse, Amanda is registered with the UK nursing regulatory body - the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC) - and adheres to a strict code of professional practice.
In fact, not only is Amanda a registered nurse but is also a Nurse Prescriber having untaken extensive additional training.
Being a registered nurse means that everyone who visits Aluminate Clinic is a patient not a client. And Amanda has a duty of care to each and every patient she treats, which means she has a legal responsibility to maintain your health, safety and well-being and this duty is at the heart of everything she does.
For nurses registered with the NMC, should concerns arise, these will be thoroughly investigated and conditions can be placed on their practice. Incredibly, for non-medical aesthetic practitioners, as there is no regulatory body, concerns about their practice cannot be readily investigated and acted upon. So, essentially, there’s no come back if you have a problem following an aesthetic treatment.
That’s not to say that there aren’t well-trained and experienced non-medical aesthetic practitioners: rather that, currently, the legislation and assurances are not in place to protect you.
For Amanda at Aluminate Clinic, nursing is a work of heart ❤️
