✨I’m back teaching next week!

First and foremost I want to say thank you for your patience! Between hosting family, managing and entertaining two small humans on break from school, and trying to beat a cold that has come upon me in the last few days, I’ve finally been able to find some headspace again!

I have missed you all and am super keen to get back on the mat with you! Links to book are all in my bio!

If you are not seeing a time or place that fits your needs, I have space available for 1 to 1s or 2 to 1s. Drop me a message to chat about this option!

Posted • Ayurveda & Yoga - Urban Retreat

Warming Winter Yoga & Ayurveda with Emily and Jenny
Sunday 28th January 2.00pm - 4.00pm

Ayurveda is a 5,000 year old holistic health system originating from India, and is the oldest known medical system still in practice. Ayur (“life”) + Veda (“knowledge”) = The knowledge of how to live a balanced and healthy life. In Ayurveda, there are 3 bio-energies, or doshas. We are all born with our own unique dosha, and different seasons have their own dosha as well. The wisdom of Ayurveda teaches us that we naturally absorb the qualities of each season we are in.

The kapha dosha is dominant in the winter season, the qualities of which are heavy and cold. Excess kapha can leave us feeling lethargic, heavy and sluggish in our bodies and minds.

Emily will teach you Ayurvedic diet and lifestyle techniques to help us counteract these qualities and create inner ‘doshic’ balance. Jenny will lead an Ayurvedic yoga flow to reduce kapha in the body and build inner warmth for increased energy.

The session includes some delicious, warming and nourishing teas and Ayurvedic inspired baking. Guests receive an Ayurvedic winter spice blend gift so you can take a little bit of Ayurvedic wisdom home with you and enjoy when warm and cosy at home.

You will leave the session feeling grounded in your body and mind, balanced internally and empowered with the wisdom of Ayurveda.

Please note this session is also pregnancy friendly :)

To book simply click the link in our Bio....

Early Bird price is £25.00 until the 14th January :)

Full price after the 14th January for the urban retreat is £30.00.

✨Happy 2024✨

There’s something about the first day of the calendar year

A feeling of optimism, a blank slate, a fresh start

That we can make it whatever we want of it

Truth is, everyday is a tabula rasa, a chance for something fresh and new

But something about having that diary or that calendar on the wall to remind you of endless possibilities

So here’s to you! 🥂 I wish that this year brings you abundance, health, happiness, and limitless blessings!

I’ve got some new and exciting things in the works for this year, so watch this space!

🕯️ The first Advent 🕯️

🕯️The advent season is upon us, the traditionally austere time of 4 weeks leading up to the festive Christmas season (25 Dec-6 Jan).

🕯️I love this time of year. I feel incredibly connected to the deep past, beyond family connections and deeper into my Celtic and Germanic roots, both pagan and Christian

🕯️the reverence for evergreen nature, the burning of candles and fires, keeping the light in the darkest times

🕯️the songs that are sung at this time of year, the medieval melodies and chords that we dust off century after century and revisit

🕯️the flavours and scents of spiced food and drink

🕯️just knowing that these are the things my ancestors most likely would have seen, heard, tasted, and smelled…this continuity gives me that feeling of connection. I feel moved, and humbled.

🕯️I’d love to hear your thoughts on this time of year, if you love it or not! 👇

Just a friendly reminder to pause and check in with yourself every so often.

We always begin my classes by having my students drop in and check in, as if they were checking in with a loved one.

So, how are you?
Physically?
Mentally?
Emotionally?
Energetically?

On the mat, take a moment to reflect and notice where you are at that particular point in time.

Notice what you have available to you to work with in your practice.

Our 100% varies from day to day, or different times of day.

Sometimes we have more energy to give, we feel great in our bodies and are ready to be challenged .
And other days we need to pull back, be more conservative.

All of this is ok.

I try to cultivate a culture of awareness and acceptance that wherever we are at any point is ok.

When we can cultivate awareness, compassion follows.

By bringing this to your practice, it eventually will come off the mat with you into your everyday life and in to the wider world.

Start small. Start with yourself. Bring that self-compassion into the world. Compassion towards others will follow.

And Lord knows we need more compassion in the world.
