This tiny passageway reputedly inspired elements of C.S. Lewis’ magical world in The Chronicles of Narnia. The lamp post is claimed to be the inspiration for the snowy forest scene as the Pevensie siblings enter Narnia through the wardrobe. There was no snow when we shot this video, just soothing rain.

The passage, known as Radcliffe Street 150 years ago, runs alongside , connecting Oxford University's Radcliffe Camera and to the town's High Street. Lewis would have passed through this alley on countless occasions on his way between , where he was an undergraduate from the summer of 1917, and the university's libraries.
