✨ Winter Yin — Week 2: Water Element ✨
Saturday 20th December

Link https://momence.com/l/vrhMdeK9

This week we’re diving into the calm, quiet magic of the Water element, the place of deep rest, inner wisdom, and that delicious “ahhhh” feeling.

We’ll be focusing on the Kidney + Bladder meridians, moving slowly through the hips and spine to help release tension and support your winter energy levels. Think long holds, lots of space, lots of breath, and plenty of time to melt.

Expect a cosy, reflective practice with:
💧 yin shapes for hips + spine
💧 gentle fascia + joint work
💧 little pauses of stillness and breath
💧 a sprinkling of seasonal wisdom to weave it all together

Perfect if you’re feeling tired, stretched thin, or just ready to soften as we move deeper into winter.

Wrap up warm, grab a blanket or two, and come settle into the quiet.
✨ See you on the mat ✨

It can be hard to carve out time for rest in our busy lives, and even when we do, maybe there are a million things that pop up. I find that resting with other people helps me to clear that time in my calendar and give myself permission to rest. This is my intention for Gentle Movement & Rest Club. We will have a different focus each time, but all around, inviting a type of rest into the hour we spend together.

I will guide us through gentle movement and restorative yoga, with a focus on easing the body, and inviting rest. There will be some pranayama and mediation too.

We all join from home, set up a nest get cosy!

𝐂𝐨𝐬𝐭:
I have set the cost at a sliding scale from £5-12. The class being online allows me to keep my costs low, so I can offer this at a lower price and hopefully make it a bit more accessible (wha the cost of everything and especially yoga can be so high). If you need a free spot, please reach out, no questions asked.

Please reach out to me if you would like to ask any questions ahead of the class

December holds its own quiet kind of magic. It teaches us to draw inward and gather strength. Little offerings of nature still remain, jewels to be found in hedgerows and scattered on woodland floors. The evenings begin their long journey toward light and winter takes gentle exhale before the sun returns.

How do you greet December this year?

A memory of a magical place & how trust and ritual still sits with me in my heart.

While in Rishikesh, almost a year ago, I stayed a week in an Ashram where we sat alongside each other in meditation, devotional practices, movement and stillness. We ate together, takimg it in turns to serve each other food. Morning practice was before the break of dawn, tiptoing im the dark down to the practice room or up to the roof along cold floor. At meals I chatted to the other people who were visiting at the same time from all walks of life. And at Kirtan I plucked up the courage to share a chant I had learnt recently making friends with everyone there. It really was a magical place for contemplation, devotion to practice and returning to self. Near the end of the week one of the recent graduate teschers from the course there was heading out onto their next adventure and didnt have time to release their garlend (a gift from their teacher) into the Ganges. They asked if I might take it and release it to the freedom of the river. I did, I took it to the other side of the bridge, where I could get closer to the water and set it free with the chant that I had shared and a personal message to that person for their onward journey.

I felt so honoured to do this for someone. To be a part of their journey. To do this for someone brpught me such warmth and compassion for that person and also for myself.

Maybe its just a moment in time.

Or maybe its a reminder of the little offerings we can do for each other to spread kindness. And how the practice of yoga connects so many people in differnt continets.

I hope this week ahead brings you something warm for your heart.
