Coach Tony - Journeyhappyfit Hi, I am Tony and I am a certified UKA endurance coach, as well as holding certifications in personal training and sports nutrition. Hi! I'm Tony.

I help the over 40s, prioritise their physical and mental wellbeing. Plan Better | Worry Less | Live More I am a UKA certified Running Coach based in Oxford. I live with my partner and our gorgeous daughters. In the past 10 years I have completed over 10 marathons all over the world, pursued various distance triathlon events and completed several half and full Ironman events. ​

My background is in Finance and I have worked in financial services for 30 years with the last 20 years providing financial advice to my clients and I work with my clients to help them live longer, healthier and financially resilient lives. My lifestyle, although not always healthy as always been pretty active. However, when approaching 40 I realised that my unhealthy lifestyle and left me overweight, overworked and unhappy with my life. I made a commitment to myself that all of that had to change. I returned to running regularly and entered a few half marathons. Then in the year I turned 40 I found myself signed up to the New York Marathon. Completing the marathon was one of the best days of my life. It was such an amazing experience that I began a journey of half marathons (too many to mention), full marathons (New York, Berlin, Paris, London, Manchester, Abingdon and Salisbury) and thereafter pursued various distance triathlons and Ironman events. After being asked for training advice by colleagues and friends, I decided to complete my personal training certification with FutureFit and really delved deep into health and fitness. I have continued to study and gain more experience with more specific coaching courses, investing time and money developing my coaching skills. I am then able to pass on relevant and proven techniques to help my athletes and clients get started with their running goals or help improve their current training regime. I am now able to combine my two passions into a business that not only helps people live a longer and more healthier life but I am also able to ensure that my clients remain financial resilient in the event of the worse happening. I am also there to help them plan for the future and to help them achieve their longer term financial goals.

So undeterred I took to the street to complete my interval session 12 x 2mins with 1 min recovery.

I love intervals and it’s so great to get back into training. After 3 months of strength training I’m looking forward to seeing how this positively impacts my training.

Day 1 of my new program 😄

So great to be back in the gym again. are still taking sensible precautions which includes masks and booking the session but only too happy to follow.

Going to be in the Gym at least 3 times a week and will do a Kettle Bell without at home and some shorter run sessions.

I really enjoy putting programs together for my health clients and it’s fun to plan one for myself.

This program isn’t based on running or performance although there will be additional benefits, it’s aimed squarely at body competition.

Starting the ‘ unlock’ Monday with an early swim, although my patience gave out 200m from the end of my session! - just got caught up behind a lane selection error 🤣

Then a walk and talk meeting at lunchtime before a face to face client meeting in the afternoon!

It’s soooo good to move into a new stage but with new lessons and take sways from this whole experience

Mental Health Week and it has a Nature theme to it...

After 50 yrs of building my own ‘user manual’ I know that I need to get outside and move when I’m feeling the ‘funk’ bite.

And today, after a day of dull admin, I continued my jump rope based workouts and played about with the KB swings.

You don’t need complicated you just need consistency.

I actually preferred the post Covid arrangements for the pool! Limited numbers, book online and scan in, 50min session and go with swimming kit on!
