Today is , and we’re recognising everyone who lives with arthritis.

All week we’ve been shining a light on self-management and sharing practical ways people manage their symptoms day-to-day.

Self-management is about the steps people can take to look after their body and mind in ways that work for them, using different tools to help reduce the impact of symptoms.

There’s no single approach and different things help different people.

That might include diet, movement, planning and pacing, rest, prioritising mental wellbeing, or a mix of these.

As Lorraine, one of our members, shared:

“Arthritis started in my knees and then in my hips. It had a big impact on my life, so I began looking into what I could do. I discovered Arthritis Action and found some answers. There’s no magic cure - what I needed to learn was how to manage it, to have the best life possible.”
