Morning Lovelies

Happy New Year to everyone 🥰

Just had a reminder of how hurtful judgemental comments can be, which was disappointing as I was feeling amazing after a wonderful walk. I won’t bore you with the details but suffice to say the old lady said it then walked off totally oblivious to how she had made me feel🤨

There is always somebody or someone to burst your bubble but do you know what, positivity overrides negativity any day of the week and that’s how I would rather live. You do not know what that person is dealing with so don’t say it!!

I am really looking forward to seeing my clients in January 2022 so I can connect with them and let them know how awesome they are.

If you are struggling and through your behaviour or demeanour someone harshly judges you remember what makes you who you are and be proud. You’re not alone so reach out.

I came home, ranted at the husband (and dog) then found solace in realising the old lady had helped me to remember some people face this sort of judgement every day of their lives. Respect to anyone who does, you’re awesome 🤩.

Please contact me if you need to find your awesomeness 😘

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year for 2022

Life can be what you make it for sure but it can also throw you some pretty difficult curve balls that catch you right in a place that hurts!

I would like to share with you that when these moments happen, try to reach out to your tribe or even to people and places you have never reached out to before and let them be there for you. I’ve done it and would always do it again if needed❤️.

Life is connections whether just a passing hello, smile, face to face with a family member or friend, just try to make that phone call or text😌.

I am reflecting on my last year and the things that have made me smile plus those that haven’t and what I have learnt, it’s quite therapeutic, trust me😉.

I have been incredibly lucky and am lucky for those around me. There isn’t a day goes by when I am not grateful, in fact I do a daily gratitude for those small things that previously I could have overlooked that made a difference to my day. You may want to try taking 10 minutes of your day/night to think about your gratitudes, it’s awesome 🤩.

I haven’t made New Year resolutions just hopes, that way I’m not setting myself up to fail as they are for me only 🤗. I don’t want to jump through hoops just see what is manageable in my life at this moment in time. I feel good enough the way I am 💪

Love and best wishes to you all and if you are struggling, DM me and we can connect and see if that helps you feel better☺️

If you need grounding as to what is important, please read Centrepoints article about Danny.
He is about the same age as my son and what a tough hand in life he has been dealt.

I am grateful he had the resilience and bravery to come through his ordeals to share with the world what happened to him.

Centrepoint and Young Devon are amazing charities that try to help the vulnerable young people of our society. Let’s give them a voice, please share.

Danny spent two years sleeping rough in woodland before being supported by SLEAP, a Centrepoint Partnering member. Read his story.

As we head into the last school week before the Christmas holiday, I am aware of a heightening of worries and anxiety.

There is no age discrimination in these feelings potentially overwhelming you, from young to old we can all be affected.

If you are struggling emotionally please take a look at my website:

sarahwhitfordcounselling.com

I am offering telephone and zoom well-being sessions over the Christmas holidays for those who are struggling. You do not have to sign up for a course of counselling sessions. My intention is purely to offer support by talking through whatever is worrying you.

Please message me either through FB or my website and I will get back to you as soon as I can.

Anxious, sad, maybe feeling isolated in your thoughts and feelings. Scared of rejection and then feeling shame, guilt and judgement is a hard place to be. Through a kind, thoughtful therapeutic approach that puts you at the centre of my work I can offer you a safe haven. A chance to unload what may....
