Today we're taking a moment to recognise our amazing Harpreet, after reciving some amazing feedback from a collegue,

Dear Team

I hope you are doing well.
I would like to sincerely appreciate my colleague, Harpreet Kaur, for her dedication and professionalism during today’s client visit.

During our morning and lunch visits, we took the client to Beyond the Border and assisted in thoroughly cleaning his room. Although each visit is typically 30 minutes, we both stayed for one full hour each, spending a total of two hours to ensure the client had a safer, cleaner, and more comfortable environment.

What makes Harpreet’s commitment especially admirable is that she is currently in her ninth month of pregnancy. Despite this, she fully contributed to the physical work and actively helped convince the client, who had previously refused assistance from many staff members, to allow us to help with the cleaning. Her patience, honesty, and gentle communication were key in gaining the client’s trust.

We both felt genuinely happy and proud to provide meaningful support and improve the client’s living conditions. I believe Harpreet’s dedication reflects the core values of our organisation and sets a strong example for the team.

I wanted to formally highlight her hard work, integrity, and resilience. Team members like Harpreet add immense value to our services and truly deserve recognition for going above and beyond.

Thank you for your time and understanding.

Warm regards,

Manishkumar Parmar

✨ Let’s spread some Christmas warmth ✨
Two wonderful local spots are opening their doors this year to offer free Christmas dinners for older members of our community:
🎄 St Benet’s Court
🎄 St Mary the Virgin Church Hall
If you know any other places offering a free Christmas meal or gathering for the elderly, please drop the details in the comments or send a message.

Together we can light up Christmas this year for those who might otherwise spend it alone. 🌟

❄️ Winter Wellbeing Tip

As the colder months settle in, many people find themselves seeing fewer friends and spending more time alone. This can affect mood and wellbeing, especially for those who may already feel isolated. Reaching out to others can make a remarkable difference.

🤝 Stay connected whenever you can.
A simple phone call, a friendly chat, a warm hello at the door. These small moments of contact can lift spirits for the rest of the day. If you know someone who might be feeling a little quieter than usual, consider checking in. Your voice or your visit could mean more than you realise.

For those who receive care at home, regular conversations with carers and loved ones help create a sense of stability and comfort. For friends, neighbours and family members, offering a few minutes of your time can be a real gift.

Here are a couple of extra winter supports:

💡 Make the most of daylight. Open curtains early or enjoy a few minutes by a window to help steady your mood.

💧 Keep drinking water. Hydration remains important even in cold weather.

Together, connection and care can bring warmth to the season for everyone. ✨

Today is International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
A reminder that accessibility is not a feature. It is a fundamental human right.
Not all disabilities are visible, and everyone’s experience is unique. Let’s honor the creativity, strength, and perspectives of people with both visible and invisible disabilities by advocating for inclusion in every space: workplaces, schools, public services, digital platforms, and our everyday interactions.
Progress happens when we listen, learn, and act with intention.
Together, we can build a world where everyone has the opportunity to participate fully and thrive.

World AIDS Day reminds us how far the world has come as hope, science and human resilience continue to transform the story of HIV.

What was once a global crisis is now a testament to remarkable progress. Treatments are stronger, futures are brighter, and conversations are more open than ever. Around the world, communities are replacing fear with understanding and stigma with support.

Today is a moment to honour the breakthroughs, the courage and the ongoing journey toward a future where everyone can live freely and confidently.

Progress deserves to be celebrated today and every day.

We received this lovely message from a client’s daughter, and it truly made our day. It’s wonderful to see how much care and kindness can mean to the families we support.
A heartfelt well done to Moira for the compassion, patience and warmth she brings every single day. We’re so proud of her and grateful for the difference she makes.
Sharing moments like this reminds us why our work matters. 💙

"I want to express my heartfelt thanks for all the care and kindness your team has shown over the past couple of months. You have all been exceptional, and I’m truly grateful for the support you’ve given Mum.
I’d like to give special thanks to Moira, who has been absolutely wonderful. Mum trusted her completely, and I know she will miss her deeply. If your organisation has any form of recognition or awards for outstanding care, please consider Moira for this - she truly deserves it. She consistently went above and beyond, not only caring for Mum with compassion but also ensuring her colleagues were always aware of Mum’s needs and wishes. Her dedication and the quality of her care are second to none.
Moira is one of a kind and a fantastic representative of your company. Please do pass on my sincerest thanks to her."

❄️ Home Safety Check: Winter Edition ❄️
As the colder months arrive, it’s a good time to make a few simple checks around the home to help keep everyone safe and comfortable.
🔥 Heating:
Make sure heating systems are working reliably and maintaining a steady, comfortable temperature. If anything seems inconsistent, it might be worth scheduling a quick check.
💡 Lighting:
With shorter days and longer nights, good lighting is essential. Check that bulbs are bright enough, hallways are well-lit, and outdoor areas have sufficient visibility to help prevent trips and slips.
🚶 Pathways & Entrances:
Cold weather can make paths, steps, and driveways slippery. Keeping these areas clear, dry, and well-lit can make getting in and out of the house much safer.
Taking a few moments to review these small details can make winter living easier and give everyone a little extra peace of mind. Stay safe and warm! ❄️✨

International Men's Day 💙

Today we acknowledge the men in our community who care, support and make a positive difference every day. 👏

To all the male carers, thank you for the compassion, strength and patience you bring to your work. Your contribution is important, and your willingness to take on caring roles helps challenge old stereotypes and shows that empathy belongs to everyone. 🤝

To our male clients, we recognise your resilience and the individual journeys you are on. It is a privilege to support you. 🌟

International Men's Day is also a reminder that men's wellbeing and experiences matter. Today we celebrate the many ways men care for others and for themselves. 💬💛

Thank you to all the men who support their communities and the people around them. 🙌

💙 Let’s Talk Men’s Health | Movember Awareness 💙

This month we’re shining a light on men’s health – and today, it’s about men checking in on other men, both mentally and physically. Whether it’s a mate, a colleague, or a family member, here are 3 things to check in on…

1️⃣ His Mental Space
Ask your mate how he’s really doing - not just the surface-level stuff.
With Men’s Mental Health Day tomorrow, reaching out could be the moment he needs to open up.

2️⃣ His Physical Health
Remind the men in your life to keep on top of their check-ups - prostate, testicular, heart health, and general wellbeing.
Men often put these things off, so a nudge from a mate can mean a lot.

3️⃣ His Daily Stress & Energy Levels
Notice if he’s exhausted, burned out, or not himself. Sometimes men power through silently - your check-in can be the support that breaks that cycle.

As we move into Men’s Mental Health Day, let’s make it normal for men to look out for each other - mentally, physically, and emotionally.
One conversation could save a life. 💬💙

Today, we take a moment to pause and reflect.

Remembrance Day is about honouring those who served, those who sacrificed, and those who never made it home. Their courage shaped the freedom we have today.

At 11 a.m., we’ll stop to remember them — with gratitude, respect, and pride.

Lest we forget. ❤️
