It's been a privilege to have been part of Torbay Communities "This is my Circus" we met with Space - Launching Futures, they went above and beyond with their army of volunteers to prepare the 3 flower beds at the top of Torquay town centre
Next week the members will be doing some of the Poppy Rocks, so I prepared 30 blank Rocks for them to paint their own rocks towards the Poppy Rocks Project, we look forward to seeing their artistic talent, the rocks will be placed along with ours on Remembrance Day
On Saturday we met the wonderful ladies from The Hummingbirds, their beautiful voices echoed along Torquay Harbour as they opened the event and at the end it was a perfect moment to give them our Poppy Rocks, they loved hearing our journey and our project and it was lovely to see they added the Poppy Rocks to their post.
We still have our part to play with the flower beds which will happen after I've recovered from my pending 2nd hip replacement
It's been a super week meeting new super talented people

This week has been a busy one
Monday evening I visited Andy's Man Club Paignton Branch, a great bunch of gents Thank You for letting me attend
Tuesday the Baton of Hope Torbay, it was very moving as I approached, I felt emotional, seeing all the community helping to tackle the stigma, I loved chatting to everyone I could
Wednesday meeting Davina from Torbay Communities and volunteers involved with the My Circus Project
Thursday painting logo rocks for the Andys Man Club in Paignton and a new men's mental health group called # LADS and finishing off the Poppy Rocks, which is now reached 1380 (think I'm going to need more storage boxes if anyone has a spare one that they don't use and would like to donate, please dm me)
Next Monday I visit Andys Man Club in Torquay

This is the Community Project, we are helping with

Join us on 18 and 19 October as Castle Circus and nearby streets come alive with music, murals, workshops and pop-ups.

The This is My Circus festival will take place across Castle Circus, Union Street, Union Square Shopping Centre, Fleet Walk and the Strand. It’s all about celebrating creativity and bringing new life to the area.

Help us get ready for the event! Torbay Communities are hosting a series of community action days to prepare the area for the transformation. The next one takes place tomorrow.

Mental Health Rocks have been asked to hand paint the tops of the raised bricks on 3 of flower beds at the top of Torquay near the Castle Pub as part of the community garden project
Each bed will be a subject and we will be adding words of positivity too
When the beds are planted myself and Maisy will add a bit of colour to the stones
We look forward to seeing folk in passing, talk about our Poppy Rocks Project and I will be doing some Tiktok lives
