Humanist, trauma- and illness-informed therapy for the quiet griefs of life
I help thoughtful, resilient people navigate the hidden toll of life’s challenges, the griefs that go unspoken, the weight of chronic illness, the aftershocks of trauma, and the quiet feeling of not quite belonging. You don’t have to be “broken” to feel stuck. You want someone who gets it; someone who understands how complex it is to live with pain, pressure, and a life that doesn’t match the script.
Some challenges arrive suddenly: illness, loss, betrayal, trauma, midlife. Others creep in quietly, exhaustion, anxiety, low confidence, a sense that life has drifted away from what you hoped for. You might be asking yourself:
How do I cope when my body and energy don’t match my ambitions?
What do I do with the grief of the life I thought I’d have?
How do I feel seen when friends and family can’t understand what I’m going through?
Can I ever feel safe again after what happened to me?
How do I live fully alongside a long-term condition like Long Covid, ME, or chronic fatigue?
Why do I still feel so small, even though I’ve survived so much?
I work with people who carry experiences the world doesn’t always make space for. Many of my clients are living with long-term health conditions that affect every part of life. Others are survivors of childhood sexual abuse, sexual assault, or other trauma, learning how to rebuild trust in themselves and others. Some are simply tired — from the constant push to “keep going” when what they really need is to pause and breathe.
Together, we create a safe space to unpack the griefs-that-don’t-have-names, the feelings that feel “too much,” and the quiet hope that things can be different. I work in a trauma-informed, integrative way, drawing on Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, and other approaches to fit the person in front of me. My role is not to judge or “fix” you, but to walk alongside you as you find your own way forward.
I am a qualified Integrative/Person-Centred Counsellor, Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, and Hypnotherapist. My work is informed by a long healthcare career before moving fully into mental health. I offer both short-term, focused support and longer-term therapy — in-person in Paisley and online UK-wide, with evening and weekend availability.
If you’re looking for a therapist who will listen deeply, understand the nuances of living with hidden struggles, and help you reclaim your energy and self-belief, I’d be honoured to work with you.
