The South West Counselling and Psychotherapy Conference in Exeter was a really fantastic day.
How can we help our clients and each other when life, our world, our planet šŸŒ is suffering?
How can we stay hopeful?
I don’t have an answer, I can only tell you that remembering to take every opportunity I get to get outside and be ā€œin natureā€ and making sure I really connect with others on a genuine and authentic level is what keeps me sane šŸ’–
And a good therapist!

Getting up early can feel tough but it’s worth it I promise.

You get:

Early morning light which is a great mood booster.

Some time just for you before the ā€˜crazy’ begins.

Fresh air

And movement that your body needs, it can also help to offset those high blood glucose readings from the ā€œdawn phenomenonā€

If you don’t do this already maybe it’s time to start?

Oh and the birdsong is soooo lovely šŸ’ž

Anyone?

Do you?

and are inextricably linked.

If one is ā€˜off’ you need to look after the other better too.

Notice the words you use against yourself and be kinder.

Notice the people who lift you up and the ones that knock you down and stay away from the latter.

Notice the food that you eat and ask ā€œdid that nourish meā€

Notice the times that you feel joy and maximise them.

Have a lovely day šŸ’–

Self acceptance and compassion for yourself.
I’m willing to bet you offer this to everyone around you daily but how often do you offer it to yourself?

Is it the weight you hate or is it yourself?

Here is an update on exactly what I’m up to as a Counsellor and Nutritional Therapist.
If any of what I have said resonates for you or if you think I seem like someone you could talk to please get in touch. I’d love to meet you 🄰.

Is it love or limerance?

Limerance can be the result of learning early on in life that the love of our caregivers is conditional.

That we have to deserve it.

We have to be quiet enough, good enough, clever enough, pretty enough…

Those of us who sadly learn early that we have to work hard to be loved, to be lovable often spend our lives repeating the same patterns.

We are attracted to romantic partners and friendships that require us to work hard because we learnt from babies that love has to be earned.

That we are at our core unlovable unless we work really hard.

If this is you, I want to tell you that you ARE lovable šŸ’–

Love is unconditional- You can love and be loved just as you are x

Has anyone else had enough of this flipping rain and grey skies?

I’m really feeling not being able to get outside!

Yes I know that I CAN get outside but it’s not enjoyable in torrential rain or even that horizontal mizzle that we get in Cornwall. šŸ˜•.

I invite you to have a proper vent on this post. Get it all out, use this opportunity to not be ā€œpositiveā€ or ā€œstrongā€ be exactly how you really feel…

Then carry on with your day. šŸ’– hopefully feeling just a little bit lighter.

Spring is getting closer every day 🐄

Struggling with your relationship with food?

Then your first step is not weightloss or any type of dietary change…

It’s moving from:

DENIAL āž”ļø ACCEPTANCE

You do this by gently beginning to NOTICE, to HEAR your inner voice.

The hunger voice.
And then being curious about what you are HUNGRY for? šŸ˜¢šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Would you like to join our InnerNourish online community and begin a kinder journey towards healing your relationship with food and yourself?

Eat like crap, feel like crap.

It’s true!

But there’s so much shouty, judgy stuff on socials about ā€œhealthy eatingā€

My approach starts with kindness and compassion and then evidence based info about how you can find your best fit.

It’s about nourishing yourself NOT punishing yourself šŸ’–

Magic happens when you find someone who really listens, someone who hears what you say but also the feelings that lie beneath the words. Someone who can help you to make sense of the jumble, the shame, the confusion.

With a counsellor, all of this happens in a safe and confidential space.

We sit outside of the rest of your life so that you can say the things you can't say to anyone else.

We help you to help yourself x
