General Manager Required:
Job description
The General Manager will oversee all aspects of the organisation's operations, including managing care planners, handling mobile communications, and supervising both carers and clients. This role requires a dynamic leader with a deep understanding of the care industry, exceptional organisational skills, and a passion for delivering high-quality care services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leadership and Team Management:
- Lead, mentor, and manage a team of care planners, carers, and administrative staff to ensure the delivery of exceptional care services.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment that promotes professional development and high performance.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate organisational goals, updates, and best practices.
- Establishing and maintaining business standards for production efficiency
- Creating a positive work environment to improve staff productivity
- Ensuring departments meet profit and key performance indicator targets
- Coordinating staff recruitment, training and schedules
- Determining the impact of industry, location and specific risks on the business
Creating and sending reports to the Director of Operations
- Operational Oversight:
- Oversee the development and implementation of individualised care plans, ensuring they meet the specific needs and preferences of clients.
- Manage and respond to mobile communications, including emergency calls, to ensure timely and effective service delivery.
- Coordinate and schedule staff to meet client needs while optimising resource utilisation.
- Client and Family Engagement:
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and their families, addressing concerns, providing updates, and ensuring satisfaction with services.
- Conduct regular assessments and reviews of client care plans to ensure they remain relevant and effective.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance:
- Ensure all services comply with relevant regulatory standards and organisational policies.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance processes to maintain and improve service delivery.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and legislative changes to ensure ongoing compliance and excellence in care.
- Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets, ensuring financial sustainability and efficient resource allocation.
- Monitor financial performance, including revenue, expenses, and profitability, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Community Engagement and Business Development:
- Represent the organisation in the local community, building relationships with stakeholders, partners, and regulatory bodies.
- Develop and implement strategies to grow the client base and expand service offerings.

Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare management, Business Administration, or a related field; a relevant qualification of NVQ Level 5
- Registered with CIW and Social Care Wales
-having experience in a senior management role within the domiciliary care sector or a related healthcare setting.
- Proven track record of successfully managing care services, including staff supervision, client relations, and operational oversight.
- Comprehensive knowledge of regulatory requirements and best practices in domiciliary care.
- Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and financial management.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using care management software and other relevant technologies.
