Stunning! 😍
Posted • Look at this beautiful foot chart created by 🤩. The feet are a map of the body's organs and systems. There are a multitude of reflex points that us Reflexologists 'work' and they correspond to a certain part of your body. Reflexology is incredibly relaxing and very effective at creating a healing response ☺️

Everyone has autonomy and gets the choice of what they want to put in their body- but- you should also know the deets, so you can make an informed choice.

Happy International Homebirth Day!
🏡✨❤️🌿
This photo was taken only three days after my third baby was born at home.
🏡
When I got pregnant with my first baby, our first choice was to have a home birth. But little did we know that our little baby had different ideas. ❤️ He was born prematurely at 27 weeks and his birth was beautiful in hospital, where we received amazing care and we knew it was the safest place for us to be.
🏡
My second and third babies were born at home at full term and I wouldn't change anything about their births!
🏡
Why did I choose to birth at home? 🤔 Because I knew that for healthy mothers with straightforward pregnancies, the option of a home birth is as safe (if not safer!) Than being in a hospital.
🏡
I knew that at home I would be more likely to have a physiological birth without falling into a cascade of interventions.
🏡
I knew that I was much more likely to be supported by a team of midwives who I knew and trusted. And it would be more likely that a midwife who I knew would attend the birth.
🏡
I knew that my husband and children could be there by my side and that I could give my boys the opportunity to witness labour and birth as something beautiful and natural.

🧡 I totally love my "job"!
💙 I feel so utterly grateful to be able to do what I do. I adore my role as a massage therapist and at the end of every session I feel uplifted, happy and peaceful. My clients are absolute gems and I am so honoured to be trusted by them. Honestly, it rarely feels like work and I receive so much in return from the wonderful conversations and reflections that I share with my clients.
🧡 Today I had the blessing to offer postnatal massage to a first time Mamma and we shared her joy and excitement at the wonders of pregnancy and birth. I was worried that pregnancy would hinder my ability to give massage treatments but I feel it has enhanced it. Particularly pregnancy and postnatal massage. The gentility, care and connection that is needed for these treatments suits my current state so well and both myself and clients have remarked that they feel held by another presence. This is more noticeable with my pregnant clients who mention the awareness of the two little beings hidden from sight but very much in the space. It is incredibly special. I'll really miss offering pregnancy and postnatal massage while pregnant and absolutely look forward to specialising in this area after my own baby is earthside.
💙 I only have 3 more days in the Edinburgh clinic before I go on maternity leave, and the spaces are filling up quick! To secure your spot, follow the link in bio to book.
🧡 Sending so much love to you!

Vagus Nerve 101

Your vagus nerve, also called the “wandering nerve,” is the longest nerve in your body...

It begins at the bottom of your brain stem and travels through your body, touching every major organ, and stopping at your abdomen...

Simply put—it’s the pathway between your brain and your body...

Your vagus nerve is a lot like a thermostat… It automatically kicks on to keep everything in perfect balance. And research has shown that the vagus nerve is vital to many of the crucial, yet delicate, processes in the body, including:

•Blood sugar
•Blood pressure
•Inflammation
•Free radicals
•Oxygen levels in your blood
•Stress- and calm-inducing chemicals

Think of your vagus nerve as your body’s neurochemical “superhighway”—carrying signals between the brain and your vital organs...

One of the most important of these signals determines whether your body goes on high alert or remains calm...

When you’re stressed or frightened, the vagus nerve signals for your sympathetic nervous system to rev into high gear. Think of it as the gas pedal in a car...

This part of your nervous systems heightens your awareness and prepares your body to go into “fight or flight” mode and chemicals like adrenaline course through your body...

When your body is calm, your parasympathetic (or “rest and digest”) system is dominant...

Think of it as the brake pedal on a car. Achieving this state is ideal as it reduces stress, regulates your blood pressure, and slows your heart rate. It also helps the body focus on healing...

Here's a diagram that shows the vagus nerve's path through the body...

Hi Everyone!

We are delighted to say that sling meets are returning to IKEA!

You will be able to hire a sling, ask questions, chat to other babywearing families and get a fiver fit check of your own carrier (if you already have one).

I created an event on our Lendengine, please sign up if you can before coming along so I know roughly how many families to expect. No worries if coming along is a last minute decision and you didn’t sign up but if you’d like to hire a sling, please register on our Lendengine to speed up the process on the day.

Here is the link: https://thebonnieslinglibrary.lend-engine.com

Please note that I’ll be able to spend 1-2-1 ca 10-15 mins with you depending on how busy the meet is. This time is enough to try 1-2 slings.

Hires start from £5 per week.

Please let me know if you’d like a specific sling to make sure I bring that for you on the day.

It is also possible for you just to pop in to pick up a sling. Please let me know if this is what you plan so you don’t have to wait much.

I can also do doorstep hires in Bonnyrigg/Lasswade and Haddington on a prearranged day.

I am super excited to see many of you there for a cuppa and/or hire!

See you soon!
