🌼Sun salutations🌼 Just started yoga and don’t know where to start? Or just want a quicker energiser for the morning? A sun salutations is for you! It’s a perfect way to get the body moving whilst breathing and flowing with the body through 10step sequence (both sides of the body). ✨Warrior poses✨ I firstly start off in a split dog pose, striding one leg forward to the front of my mat to come into ✨warrior 1✨, here I’m pressing through both feet with a lovely bend in the front knee. Arms can rise all the way up or out by the side for balance. Then prepare to put my weight into my front leg to come into ✨warrior 3✨whilst my core is tight. Aiming for a straight line along the body flexing the feet. When coming down bend the leg and prepare to come into ✨warrior 2✨, back leg straight whilst facing the side of the mat and front leg bent facing the front. In this pose I reverse the warrior and also bring it forward. Stay in these poses for 3-5 breaths🙏🏼. #2

This is your reminder to take some time for yourself to do some breathing! During the madness of your day its important to stop and do some simple breathing techniques to calm your mind. These methods are great for calming anxiety and stress, especially the ‘square breathe’ as you can’t think of much more than the square as you breath around it! The sigh breathe is simple but so effective, when you sigh out visually see your body relaxing as you breath out! Sending positive vibes to you all🙏🏼✨

The most common theory said about yoga is that its all for the body to build flexibility, although it can help that there’s SO much more to it especially for children!
I could list the hundreds of benefits it has for children but that would be far to long, instead i’ll write a few.

✨For those children that are very much high in the clouds (as I was) yoga is amazing! It helps to ground children and keep their focus! So you might notice they are concentrating bit harder on their homework!

✨As children are young they struggle with their balance so through doing poses in yoga it enhances coordination and promotes their balance.

✨Yoga is great for balancing out emotions! It gives children the ‘toolkit’ filled with different techniques to make sure they can help themselves, whilst understanding that these feelings are completely normal.

✨Last but not least it spreads the awareness of self love, something they should learn at schools! Especially with social media younger boys/girls think they need to be a certain way, yoga makes sure they love who they are! It does this by boosting their confidence and raising their self esteem!
