Well, today was a busy old day. A busy and very soggy day.

Earlier I did an audition to become a W.I speaker. I talked about all sorts of things celebrant related. I over ran and had to do apologising! I shall wait and see if I get accepted.

Then a quick outfit change and onto Treswithian Downs where I conducted a service for a lovely lady. Sadly, I conducted her husband's funeral last year. Some comfort was drawn by the fact that they are together again. It was an honour to be asked to take Meg's service.

I'm now on my settee eating some chocolate, as Galaxy was Meg's favourite. No other reason. Obviously!

All set up and ready to go for the SouthWest Lovefest in that there Somerset. There are about 70 alternative/quirky/fabulous suppliers here in this big old barn of a place. I'm hoping to get a look around at some point.

I've already met some smashing celebrants...there are a lot of us out here in the wild!

Being an auction centre there is a bit of a whiff of farmyard creature and unlikely signage for a wedding fair (see the last pic!)

Note to self...it's time for the big coat!

In this week's Celebrant-based news, I'm just back from a beautiful funeral.

Yes, you can have a funeral at the weekend. It's much more practical for some folks, what with family and friends often having to travel considerable distances (especially to get here, the Wild West of Cornwall)

Something to think about, if you find yourself having to plan a funeral.

In other news, I had a potential wedding meeting earlier this week. It went really well. But the couple's ultimate decision came about because of the way their animals reacted to me. Let's just say, i have a new booking! Hooray for the animals 🐕 🐶 🐩 🐈 😻 🐈‍⬛️ 😺

Even on a grey day, the Jubilee Pool is magnificent.

Imagine having your wedding here!
You could have your ceremony anywhere you fancy; in the cafe space, in a changing cubby, by the pool, in the pool.....it's totally up to you.

What a choice to make!

I'll be honest, I'm glad there aren't any diving boards anymore, as I'd be far too much of a scaredy cat to offer to conduct a ceremony at height!

Today, I met with the lovely Kerry, who is in charge of events at this new wedding venue. She was really welcoming and full of enthusiasm for the future of the pool.

This is going to be an excellent place to hold your wedding. Beautiful setting, lovely food and a very laid back vibe. But don't dilly dally as there will only be a handful of wedding slots available to book. (got to keep the swimmers happy after all!)

Today's shoes were a little more grown up.

Another beautiful ceremony at the Natural Burial. This one was an intimate family gathering with lots of nature and lots of music.

Photo description...a pair of black shoes which are a tad soggy as the Cornish mizzle was in evidence. Above the shoes is the lower part of a teal dress with peacocks on it. And a bit of two feet. My feet, not someone else's.

Not often I get to wear my ancient pink DMs to conduct a funeral!

Beautiful sunny ceremony at Penwith Woodland Burial today.

Photo description...a pair of pink Dr Marten boots, with my legs sticking out the top. The background is grass. There is a glimpse of pink socks above the boots. And a frock with sailing boats is seen too. Sailing and DMs meant a great deal to this lovely man.

I'll be sharing and taking part in Dying Matters Week....I mean, it matters every week, but y'know this is pointing a laser beam at it.

Talking about death and grief is so very important. Keeping those we have lost alive in our thoughts and conversations matters.
