🌸🌿 Out & About for National Garden Week 🌿🌸

Today, as part of National Garden Week, we spent the day out and about with our residents enjoying a walk around our beautiful boating lake. 🌼

We took in all the lovely flowers in bloom, stopped to admire the colours, and even had a chat with the gardeners who help keep the area looking so wonderful. 🌷🌳

Join us for our upcoming Coffee Morning in aid of Dementia Week ☕💙

These mornings are about so much more than just a cuppa (although we do that very well… and yes, there will be cake 🍰). They’re a chance to come together, have a chat, and feel part of a supportive community.

Living with dementia, or supporting someone who is, can feel overwhelming at times — but you are not alone. Events like this create a safe, relaxed space where people can connect, share experiences, and find out what support is available locally. Whether you pop in for five minutes or stay the whole morning, you’ll be met with a friendly face and a warm welcome.

We are recruiting for 2 part time Housekeepers.
You will be responsible for maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness within the beautifully located home in Perranporth, working closely with other members of the team.
Your key duties in this role will include vacuuming, mopping, polishing and general up-keep of all communal areas and our residents' bedrooms.
You will keep accurate records on our cleaning schedule and you will maintain housekeeping stocks for day to day use and raise any issues to the Manager, as you go.
You will take real pride in ensuring your work is always completed to the highest standard. We pride ourselves on recruiting honest individuals and who share our core values therefore, you will enjoy creating an environment that's well maintained, making sure our residents are comfortable and feel well looked after.
You will have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well as part of a united team in addition to a trustworthy, patient and compassionate nature and a belief in giving your personal best at all times and striving for continuous improvement.
Job Type: Part time, Permanent
Salary: £12.82 p/h
Expected hours: 20 per week on a 4 week rota 13.00 - 18.00

🌧️💙 A Walk Full of Memories 💙🌧️

Today two of our lovely ladies decided they fancied a walk — and not even the weather could dampen their spirits! 🌦️

Wrapped up and smiling, we headed out together, and I had the absolute pleasure of listening to them chat about their lives and share memories of their childhood during the war.

It was one of those truly special moments… just walking, talking, and being in the company of such incredible life stories. 🥹

Sometimes it’s not about the sunshine — it’s about the conversations, the memories, and the moments we get to be part of 💙

Zumba, giggles and a little Latin vibe!

Today our residents got moving with a 40 minute armchair Zumba session... and what a session it was.
There was lots of movement, plenty of laughter, and maybe hidden dance moves we didn't know about.
The fun didn't stop there, we kept the Latin music playing whilst everyone enjoyed their teas and coffees, turning it into a lovely relaxed social time with a great atmosphere.

🥚🌸 Egg-cellent Creativity Today! 🌸🥚
Today our residents got creative decorating their own foam eggs — and no two were the same! 🎨
Everyone chose their own colours, patterns and designs, making each egg completely unique. From bright and bold to soft and pretty, it was lovely to see everyone’s personalities shine through their creations. 💛
There was plenty of chatting, laughter and a very relaxed atmosphere as everyone got stuck in. Safe to say we have some very talented designers here at Lavender Court! 😄
The finished eggs are looking beautiful and will make a lovely addition to our seasonal decorations around the home. 🌷

A Truly Special Moment 🥰
Today we had the absolute privilege of supporting one of our lovely couples to spend some time together outdoors. George has been a part of life at lavender court for a couple of years now, and this week we were delighted to welcome his wife Sandra who has joined him.
It was the first time they had been out together since being reunited with us, and what a beautiful moment it was. We took a gentle stroll, enjoying the fresh air, and paused to take a photograph for them. They shared with us that it had been a number of years since they last had a photo together...which made the moment even more special. Seeing the smiles on their faces and the way they spoke and looked at each other was just heartwarming. Moments like these remind us how important love, connection and togetherness really are. Sometimes it's not the big things- just being side by side is everything. 💕

George loves writing poems and this year he has found his love of writing songs. He wrote a song for Mo who he met the first day she arrived, she gave him a pasty and he said it's the biggest pasty he'd ever had and decided to write a song about it. Mo was so happy with the song she said " That's lovely George, thankyou" 😊
George uses his talent for writing poems and songs to celebrate residents and carers. He appeared happy and confident while sharing his work.
