📢 This week, we're getting behind the ‘Stop the Pressure’ campaign – an important movement which seeks to minimise the pressure sores that can blight the health of anyone, particularly the elderly.

We've been joined by NHS Multidisciplinary Teams, wound care partners, and pressure-relieving equipment specialists – all coming together to share insights, spark conversations, and strengthen collective knowledge.

Lori Fisher, Service Quality Manager at BCG says: “The goal of Stop the Pressure is to prevent pressure ulcers, which are skin and tissue injuries caused by prolonged pressure. The campaign focuses on raising awareness of prevention methods, such as changing positions regularly, protecting vulnerable skin areas, and making use of support surfaces.

"We want the very best of health for our residents and this week of activity is a prime example of the steps we're taking to safeguard it."

🐾 Ayanda, beloved four-legged friend to BCG Coupar Angus, proudly came in to show off her brand-new rosette and certificate after being named Runner-Up for Scottish Therapet of the Year 2025! 🎉

At 12 years young, Ayanda isn’t slowing down anytime soon. She lights up the room every time she visits and is adored by her residents.

Ayanda has been a regular visitor at BCG Coupar Angus for over a decade, even receiving an award last year for 10 years of dedicated service.

One resident was moved to tears of joy when Ayanda reminded her of her own Dalmatian, Zeus. Moments like these show the incredible impact Ayanda has on mental wellbeing and happiness.

🎄 The Monkbarns team (and residents) had a lot of fun at their Christmas Fayre held in the Old and Abbey Church Hall, Arbroath last week.

With Santa’s Grotto, raffles, hot drinks, mince pies, cakes, and a very busy tombola, the hall was buzzing with festive cheer. 🎅

They welcomed families, residents, the team, and the local community to explore 20 wonderful stalls. With thanks to everyone’s generosity and support, an amazing £1,120 was raised to go towards extra experiences and activities for residents! 🎁

Our Story

As we get older, we all have our own specific care and support needs. Here at Balhousie Care, our team is passionate about delivering the highest quality care and support to our residents, ensuring that our homes really are a 'home-from-home'. ‘The Balhousie Way’ is our own little term which describes the way in which we like to run our homes. Always with care at our core, always with our residents in mind. We treat all of our residents as individuals and appreciate that each one is unique, with different likes, dislikes, needs and care requirements. Each of our twenty-five care homes reflect this and aim to cater for the specific care needs of every resident. Our nursing, care and support staff are our core, they're what makes us tick as an organisation. They are on the front line of contact with our residents; always there, providing genuine care, no matter what. It is impossible to measure their contribution to our organisation and without them, we simply could not function.
