It’s Always Great to Receive Feedback

This evening, while doing a little Paws work, we were delighted to receive an amazing review from a recent interaction with a PCSO we met for a walk and talk at Flint House last week.

We’re so pleased that we’ve been able to help this person on their journey to recovery. One of the hardest things anyone can do is ask for help—but not only were they brave enough to reach out, they’ve also embraced a fresh outlook and have begun moving forward.

The power of the paws, combined with open and honest conversation, is simply incredible. 🐾

I was very lucky to meet Paul & Holly at my recent stay at Flint House. It was a positive experience and my 1:1 chat with Paul made me see the light. Upon returning from Flint House and being back on duty, I have taken on board what Paul and I spoke about and I have the Flint House staff to thank also for giving me the techniques I needed to enjoy life again. It isn't an instant fix but I will get there. Thank you Paul & Holly Dog

A Week of Pawsome Wellbeing at Flint House Police Rehabilitation

What a week it’s been! We’ve had a truly uplifting and supportive time at Flint House, focused on connection, reflection, and wellbeing.

🐾 38 officers took part in our Wellbeing Three-Mile Walk, where we saw firsthand the incredible impact of pawsitive support—Holly, the much-loved wellbeing dog, continues to break down barriers and open up meaningful conversations.

🧠 We hosted a powerful Lived Experience Trauma Presentation, encouraging reflection and a deeper understanding of the signs and symptoms of trauma—helping others to recognise and respond with compassion.

🚶‍♀️ One-to-one Walk and Talks gave individuals space to connect, share, and be heard in a safe, supportive setting.

🎉 And of course, we wrapped up with some light-hearted fun by hosting the quiz night!

A huge thank you to everyone who supported us by purchasing our bespoke Cuddly Holly Dogs and pin badges—your contributions have provided a donation to Flint House As a charity, they rely on donations and fundraising efforts to continue providing life-changing care and rehabilitation for police officers. Donations can be made here https://www.flinthouse.co.uk/give-support/

Together, we’re making a difference. 💙🐶

Looking forward to being back at Flint House Police Rehabilitation Centre this week, supporting officers on their recovery journeys—both physically and mentally.

I'll be delivering sessions on PTSD awareness, leading wellbeing walks, and—most importantly—bringing Holly along for some much-needed therapy dog cuddles 🐾

It’s always an honour to be part of the incredible work happening at Flint House, helping those who dedicate their lives to protecting others.

We are excited to welcome back to Flint House this week. Paul and Holly will be sharing their experiences and taking time out to walk and talk. Holly will be adding to the smiles with her wagging tail!

Remembering 7/7 – 20 Years On

On 7 July 2005, four bombs were detonated across London at Aldgate Station, Edgware Road, King’s Cross/Russell Square and Tavistock Square. Fifty-two people tragically lost their lives, and hundreds more were injured in one of the most devastating terrorist attacks in the UK’s history.

Today, on the 20th anniversary, Blue Paw is in London with the British Transport Police, offering support to officers and staff who responded on that harrowing day. Many of those who served still carry the trauma of what they witnessed and endured — and for some, the opportunity to talk about and process those experiences only comes now, two decades later.

We remember those who were lost and injured, and we honour the courage and sacrifice of all who responded. Their resilience and service will never be forgotten.

The heat is on in London! ☀️

Another pawsome wellbeing visit today, to British Transport Police officers and staff at St Pancras International, who help keep the International Terminal safe and running smoothly.

Thankfully, our fully air-conditioned Paw Vehicle kept us cool en route, and the terminal itself was a refreshing oasis from the heat! 🐾❄️

We're back in London for another visit tomorrow, but for now... it’s time to chill and relax. 😎🐶

PTSD Awareness Day – June 27th, 2025

PTSD Awareness Day in 2025 falls on June 27th. This day is dedicated to raising awareness about post-traumatic stress disorder, reducing stigma, and encouraging those affected to seek help and support.

Tragically, in just the past week, three police officers and one firefighter have died — and these are only the cases we know about.

"Asking for help is not a sign of weakness, but a refusal to give up. In fact, asking for help is one of the bravest things you can do."

"There comes a point where we need to stop just pulling people out of the river. We need to go upstream and find out why they're falling in."

If you are struggling, please reach out. There are people and organisations ready to help. Don’t suffer in silence. Take the biggest and proudest step forward.

You are not alone.

Royal Duty

We were honoured today to visit Buckingham Palace once again to deliver some pawsome wellbeing to the officers and members of the Royal Household.

Holly was sadly unable to meet the King—her diary was simply too full! However, she was warmly received by everyone she met, and the Household staff have already requested return visits. Thanks to Darren Lawrie for facilitaing.

It looks like Holly may soon be attending by Royal Appointment! 👑🐾

☀️Hot London Town☀️

We were especially grateful for the air conditioning in the control room today during our visit to British Transport Police in central London. Once again, officers were called to attend a su***de attempt on the railway—yet another reminder of the trauma faced daily by both officers and control room staff.

A well-earned afternoon with paws up before a very special visit tomorrow in London. 🐾

Enhance Workplace Wellbeing with Blue Paw

🧠Recent figures show that 1 in 6 people in the UK are struggling with poor mental health. Now more than ever, prioritising wellbeing in the workplace isn’t just a nice-to-have — it’s essential.

🦮At Blue Paw, we offer a unique and proven way to support mental health and emotional wellbeing in the workplace: wellbeing dogs. While they certainly bring smiles, their presence also brings powerful emotional benefits.

🦮Why Dogs in the Workplace?🦮

When a dog enters a space, something shifts. People naturally gather, interact, and experience a moment of joy and calm. During these interactions, the body releases oxytocin — the “feel-good” hormone associated with trust, empathy, reduced stress, and improved social bonding. The result? A more relaxed, connected, and positive team environment.

✅What Blue Paw Offers

We bring wellbeing dogs to workplaces, schools, conferences, meetings, and team-building events — tailoring each visit to your organisation’s specific needs. Our “Paws Time” sessions give employees a valuable break from the pressures of the day, promoting calm, connection, and conversation. These sessions have been shown to reduce stress, anxiety, and sickness, ultimately contributing to a happier, more resilient workforce.

✅Professional Expertise & Personal Experience

Led by professionals with over 25 years of trauma experience in the emergency services — including responses to major incidents and terrorist attacks — Blue Paw offers more than just dog

Back home after a rewarding few days at Flint House, supporting officers on their journey to recovery—both physically and mentally. It’s always a privilege to listen, share conversations, and witness the resilience of those dedicated to serving others.

A special highlight was the 3-mile wellbeing walk, with a peaceful mindful midway stop to take in the view and some much-needed fresh air.

This week’s visit was made possible by the generous support of Nikko Asset Management—a heartfelt thank you for helping make these important moments happen.
