Change The Tape
A New Movement for Mental Health, Nursing Support & Domestic Violence in the Community of Plymouth.
At Change The Tape, we believe that real change starts with a single step—and we’re here to take those steps together.
What began as a grassroots movement rooted in healthy living, mental health awareness, and community support has now grown into something truly powerful. Based in Plymouth, our goal is to raise funds for local charities in mental health, nursing and domestic violence, and promote wellbeing through exercise and connection, and help people rewrite their own mental and emotional narratives—one tape at a time.
What we’ve achieved so far:
• In our first year, we raised just under £12,000.
• We supported the creation of a new staff and patient hub at The Lee Mill Low Secure Mental Health Unit.
• We funded 117 one-to-one counselling and emotional support sessions through Devon Mind, directly helping individuals in need of professional mental health support.
What we’re about:
Change The Tape is more than just fundraising—it’s a movement. It’s about:
• Healthy living and exercise as a form of therapy and strength.
• A safe space to meet, talk, and share.
• Support for one another through all of life’s ups and downs.
• Growing a community—we already have over 30 members and counting.
What’s coming up:
• Weekly Walk, Jog & Run meetups (1-5 miles) every Wednesday evening and Sunday morning—for all fitness levels.
• “Walk & Talk” events, including menopause support walks with medical guests.
• Social get-togethers that inspire connection and fun.
• Launching soon: 1:1 guidance, coaching, and therapeutic support for those facing mental health or domestic challenges.
We’re not just moving—we’re moving with purpose. We’re changing the conversation. We’re Changing The Tape.
So if you’re ready to move your body, lift your mind, and connect with a community that cares, we invite you to join the yellow submarine and Change Your Life by Changing Your Tape.
