It was a privilege for Homewell Plus to attend this fantastic event on Plymouth Hoe celebrating adult social care in our city.

There are so many hardworking, compassionate people supporting vulnerable adults across Plymouth every single day, often quietly behind the scenes, and it was brilliant to see that recognised and celebrated.

As an allied healthcare professional-led company, we are passionate about helping people remain safe, independent, and well at home through a combination of care, rehabilitation, and community support.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising the day and to all those working across health and social care in Plymouth. Collaboration across services is so important for the future of community care.

Today we are out supporting home visit physiotherapy patients across the South Hams, while also helping care clients in Plymstock work towards greater independence at home.

What stands out every time is how much the right support, encouragement, and consistency can make a difference to somebody’s confidence and everyday wellbeing.

At Homewell Plus, we believe care and rehabilitation should work together, not separately. Whether that is helping somebody recover after illness, maintain mobility, or continue living safely and independently at home, the goal is always the same: supporting people to live well in the place they know best.

This morning made me smile more than anything else this week.

I stepped in to support one of our long-term clients after a last-minute change. I took her some breakfast in… she didn’t want it.

So I brought it back out again.

Then a little while later I took it back in… and she’d forgotten she didn’t want it and happily started eating it.

We both ended up laughing. A lot. Proper, genuine, happy laughter.

Moments like that are special.

Earlier in my career, I worked as a dementia lead in a hospital. It taught me a huge amount, but days like today remind me that the most important part of care is not always clinical.

It is patience. It is presence. It is understanding the moment you are in.

Being able to bring that into someone’s home, to create calm, comfort, and even a bit of happiness, means a lot to me.

Leadership, for me, is simple. Step in when needed. Support your team. And make sure the person in front of you feels safe, valued, and cared for.

Today was a good day. A happy day.

It was great to be part of the Caring Plymouth event on the Hoe yesterday.

A really positive day with so many people coming together, sharing ideas, and supporting one another. There was a real sense of community, and it was good to see so many people focused on helping others live well and stay independent.

We’re always grateful to be involved in events like this and to meet people who genuinely care about making a difference.

At Homewell Plus, we love the London Marathon.

It was on yesterday and it stays with you. Early this morning, out with the dog for about six miles, bit of a walk run, and it all comes back.

It has always been part of the family. My dad ran it in 82, 85 and 88. Over the years, I have been lucky enough to take part a few times as well, and that feeling never really leaves.

There is something about it. The effort, the stories, the emotion behind every runner. It is special.

If you watched it and felt that pull, even just a little bit, put your name in. The ballot is open.

Well done to everyone who took part in the London Marathon.

How brilliant to witness such an incredible event, and how lucky we are that it happened right here in London. A true celebration of human endeavour, resilience, and determination. From first-time runners to seasoned athletes, every mile tells a story of commitment and purpose.

To see two runners complete the marathon distance in under two hours, and for it to happen within an official race setting, is simply extraordinary. A historic moment that redefines what is possible.

Wishing the very best of luck to everyone taking part in the London Marathon today.

It is always a powerful day. Not just for the runners, but for the families supporting them and the charities they are running for. There is a lot of hard work, emotion, and purpose behind every mile.

Our founder has had the privilege of running the London Marathon six times, supporting a range of charities along the way. It gives a real appreciation of what today means to so many people.

A really positive and enjoyable time yesterday with Hospital Radio Plymouth.

We had a great conversation around music, healthcare, and what support can look like for people here in Plymouth. It was also a chance to share more about Homewell Plus, including our home visit physiotherapy and the wider support we provide to help people stay safe, independent, and well at home.

There is something genuinely uplifting about being part of something that brings connection, comfort, and a bit of happiness to people, especially in a hospital setting.

Acupuncture is one of the most effective treatments I can offer when it is the right fit for the patient.

It does not work for everyone, but when it does, the results can be significant.

I often see improvements in pain, muscle tension, and overall comfort. For some people, it also helps them relax in a way that supports their recovery more broadly.

As a physiotherapist, my focus is always on finding what works best for each individual. Acupuncture is one of the tools I use alongside hands on treatment, movement, and advice.
