I’ll be talking 🗣️ all things menopause - if you are 40+ and want to learn what is going on and ways to improve the way you feel come along on Saturday 1st March at Wildwood at the RWY.

🌸 The Menopause, let's talk 🌸

Are you going through it or know someone who is?

Menopause is a natural stage of life, but that doesn't make it easy. Hot flushes, brain fog, anxiety, poor sleep, aching joints, mood swings, and exhaustion - sound familiar? These are just some of the symptoms, and it can feel overwhelming, frustrating, and sometimes lonely.

But you're definitely not alone. Next Saturday, 1st March, we have a special talk with Nikki Harris, qualified and experienced nutritionist, who'll be sharing insights into what's happening to your body and how to manage the symptoms.

Stay healthy and energised this festive season with these simple tips to support your gut and feel your best!

1. Pass on the Sugar 🍬❌
Excess sugar fuels bad gut bacteria and leads to inflammation and bloating. Swap for:

Unsalted nuts
Olives
Roasted chickpeas
(Avoid dried fruit if prone to bloating.)

2. Chew, Chew, Chew! 🥄🧘‍♀️
Chewing thoroughly helps your digestion. Feeling bloated? Try teas with ginger, fennel, or artichoke. (Avoid peppermint if you have heartburn.)

3. Choose Dark Chocolate 🍫🌰
Opt for 70% or higher. Pair with nuts to balance sugar spikes and support gut health.

4. Go Easy on the Booze 🍷💧
Enjoy a glass of red, but follow it with water. Limit to 1-3 glasses a week to avoid gut imbalances.

5. Be Food Smart 🌿🍴
At gatherings, go for fibre-rich snacks like:

Olives
Nuts
Falafels
Avoid beige foods (crisps, pastries) that slow digestion and cause bloating.

6. Ginger & Artichoke 🌿✨
Add fresh ginger to teas or smoothies to boost digestion. Artichokes help "move food along"—find a new love for this gut-friendly veggie!

7. Warm Up with Winter Teas ☕❄️
Spiced teas with cinnamon, ginger, and turmeric are anti-inflammatory and perfect for cosy evenings.

8. Eat Seasonal Foods 🥣🍲
Make hearty soups and stews with beans, pulses, and seasonal veggies. Great for using up leftover turkey!

This is especially true when it comes to safeguarding bees and other pollinators, as all ten supermarkets continue to use neonicotinoids and other highly bee-toxic pesticides in their global supply chains.

That’s why we’re calling on you to join us in urging supermarkets to commit to eliminating all highly bee-toxic pesticides from their global supply chains by 2030 at the latest. Together, we can protect pollinators and promote healthier ecosystems.
