Mother’s Day can bring up a mix of emotions for many men.

💖 For some, it’s a day to celebrate the amazing mums, partners, grandmothers, and mother figures who support us and our families every day.
💔 For others, it can be a reminder of loss, difficult relationships, or someone who is no longer with us.

Today is a good day to check in…
Check in with your mum if you can.
Check in with the mother of your children.
Check in with the men around you too.

Grief, gratitude, love, and reflection can all exist on the same day, and that’s okay.

If today feels heavy, you’re not on your own. Talking helps. Our groups are always here for men who need a space to speak openly and be heard.

From all of us at Man Down, we’re wishing a supportive and thoughtful Mother’s Day to everyone who needs it 💛🖤

Weekends hit different when your head’s not in a good place.

All week you’ve got routine. Work. College. The gym. Mates. Distractions.

Then Friday night lands… and suddenly there’s space.

Space to think.
Space to feel everything you’ve been pushing down all week.
Space where the noise in your head gets louder.

For a lot of men, the weekends are when things feel the heaviest. When loneliness creeps in. When the pressure to be “fine”, “strong”, or “sorted” feels like too much.

And too many lads deal with that by keeping it to themselves.

No messages sent.
No one told.
No one knowing.

But silence is where things get dangerous.

You don’t have to carry it on your own.

At Man Down, we’re a group of men who meet, talk, listen and support each other. No judgement. No pressure. Just real conversations with people who get it.

If this sounds like you… reach out.
If you know a mate who’s been quiet lately… check in.
If you’re reading this and you’re doing okay… help us spread the word.

Because the more men who know they’re not alone, the more lives we can change.

👉 Tag a mate.
👉 Start a conversation.

It might mean more than you think.

Let’s talk about it

With spring on the way, a lot of people start talking about hope returning. Longer days, more light, a fresh start…

But if that’s not how you’re feeling right now, that’s okay.

Not every man feels better just because the seasons change. If things still feel heavy, that doesn’t mean you’re failing, it just means you might need support 💛🖤

You don’t have to carry it on your own.

Talking to someone who understands can make all the difference. A mate, someone you trust, or a Man Down group where there’s no judgement and no pressure.

If you’re struggling, reach out. We’re here.

Let’s talk about it

Today we celebrate International Women’s Day… a day to recognise the strength, compassion, resilience and leadership of women everywhere 💜

At Man Down, we know that conversations about men’s mental health do not happen in isolation. Behind so many men who reach out for support are the women who encourage them to talk, who listen without judgement, and who help break down the stigma around mental health.

Today we want to celebrate the women in our community – the partners, mums, sisters, daughters, friends, volunteers, professionals and advocates who stand alongside us. Your support, empathy and courage help create safer spaces for men to speak openly and begin to heal.

We are also proud to work alongside incredible women who support our groups, our community, and the wider conversation around mental wellbeing.

Mental health support works best when everyone stands together. Today we celebrate the women who make that possible every single day.

Thank you for everything you do 💜

Small things can make a big difference to your mental health.

Here are a few simple ideas to try:

1️⃣ Take a 10-minute walk
2️⃣ Put the phone down before bed
3️⃣ Talk to a mate
4️⃣ Step outside and get some fresh air
5️⃣ Slow your breathing for a minute
6️⃣ Feel the sun on your face
7️⃣ Fuel your body with good food
8️⃣ Prioritise sleep
9️⃣ Be kind to yourself

You don’t have to do them all, just start somewhere 💪

👇 What helps you look after your mental health?

Let’s talk about it.

Watching a man you love struggle? You’re not alone.

It’s hard to watch.

The quiet mood changes.
The shorter temper.
The withdrawal.
The “I’m fine” when you know he’s not fine.

If you’re a son or daughter, a partner, a parent, a sibling, or a friend watching a man you love struggle with his mental health, it can feel confusing, worrying, and sometimes even helpless.

You might wonder:

* Should I say something?
* What if I make it worse?
* Why won’t he just open up?

Many men feel pressure to stay strong, keep going, and deal with things alone. But they don’t have to.

Man Down offers safe, confidential peer-support groups for men aged 18+ across Devon. No judgement. No pressure. Just real conversations with other men who understand.

If you’re supporting someone:
💬 Keep the door open for conversation
🤝 Remind him you’re there, without forcing it
💙 Let him know that getting support is a sign of strength

Sometimes a simple…
“I’ve noticed you haven’t seemed yourself lately, I’m here if you want to talk” can mean more than you realise.

And remember… you matter too. Supporting someone who’s struggling can be heavy. It’s okay to seek guidance and support for yourself as well.

If the man in your life might benefit from talking to other men who understand, encourage him to reach out to Man Down or send us a message to find out more.

Let’s break the silence together.
No man should feel he has to face this alone.

Let’s talk about it

Some men are walking around convinced they’ve blown it.

Bad choices.
Burned bridges.
Things they wish they could take back.

And somewhere along the way, they started believing the lie that because of their past, they don’t deserve a decent future. So they keep quiet. Keep their distance. Keep punishing themselves long after everyone else has moved on.

Here’s the reality… you’re not beyond redemption.
You’re not a lost cause.
And you don’t have to do life alone just because you feel ashamed.

Isolation keeps you stuck. Connection moves you forward 💛🖤

That’s why Man Down exists… a room full of men who don’t need you to be perfect, just honest. No lectures. No judgement. Just real talk and real support.

If you’re tired of carrying it all on your own, this is your sign.
Show up. Say as much or as little as you want.

You’re still worth the effort, even if you don’t believe it yet.

If social media has been making you feel low, pressured, or like you’re not measuring up… you’re not alone. A lot of young men are feeling the same weight, even if it doesn’t look like it online.

What you see on your feed is a highlight reel, not the full story. Behind the posts and the filters, most people are dealing with doubts, stress, and tough days too.

If things have been feeling heavy lately, you don’t have to keep it to yourself. Talking to other men who get it can make a real difference.

💬 Man Down run free, informal peer support groups where you can show up exactly as you are… no pressure, no judgement, just real conversations with people who understand.

You deserve support. You deserve space to talk. And you don’t have to do it on your own.

Let’s talk about it
