Man Down Devon is looking for men to become facilitators and help support others who may be struggling.

Many of the men who come to Man Down don’t need fixing, they need to be heard by someone who gets it.

If you’ve been through tough times yourself and come out the other side, your experience could help someone else feel less alone.

To become a facilitator, you should:
- Be male and over 25
- Have lived experience of mental health struggles
- Be in a stable place now and able to support others
- Be a good listener, empathetic and non-judgemental
- Be able to give around 2 hours every fortnight
- Be willing to complete training (fully supported by Man Down UK)

You don’t need qualifications.
You don’t need to have all the answers.
Just the willingness to show up and support other men.

If you’ve ever thought, “I wish someone had been there for me” … this could be your way of being that person for someone else.

👊 If this sounds like you, send us a message or find out more via the Man Down UK website (link is in the comments)

Have you noticed a change in someone lately? 🤔
Maybe they’re quieter than usual, cancelling plans, not replying like they used to, or just seem a bit different.

It’s easy to tell ourselves they’re just busy, or that someone else will check in… But often, a simple message can mean more than we realise.

You don’t need the perfect words.
You don’t need to fix anything.
Just a “Hey, I’ve been thinking about you, how are you really?” can be enough to remind someone they’re not alone.

If someone came to mind while reading this, take it as your sign to reach out today.

And if this resonates, please react or share this post… you never know who might see it at the right moment 💛🖤

Sometimes, checking in really does save lives.

Let’s talk about it!

The connection our members make with each other is based on authenticity, honesty and respect.

A bond that can never be broken.

The things shared , the exchange of words , the trust.

All very powerful stuff 💪🏻

Let’s talk about it has always been our slogan but the connection these men are making with one another is by far the most important part of Man Down.

Let’s talk about it.

👏👏👏

Too many men still believe they have to struggle in silence.
That asking for help makes them weak.
That they’re not allowed to talk about how they really feel.

But the reality tells a different story…

In 2025, 7,491 men walked through the doors of Man Down UK meetings.
Not statistics, but 7,491 individual decisions to show up, speak up, and not face things alone🤝

This figure was shared yesterday during our volunteer thank you and training day… a moment to pause and recognise the power of safe spaces, peer support, and simply being listened to.

But this work doesn’t stop here…
💪 Throughout 2026, we will continue to be there for any man who needs a place to talk.
💪 We will keep challenging the stigma surrounding men’s mental health.
💪 And we will keep working to reduce the number of male suicides.

If you’re struggling, you are not weak.
You are not alone.
And you are always welcome.

Together, we can end the silence and save lives 💛🖤

16/01/2026

This is your sign.
You don’t need the right words.
You don’t need a story.
You don’t even need to talk.
Turning up is enough.

You’re welcome at Man Down.

Drop a 💛 to help other men see this message too.

A lot of men think mental health support is only for when things have hit rock bottom.

The truth is, many of the lads who come along simply want connection… a chance to talk, listen, and spend time with other men who get it 🙌

Life changes as we get older. Kids grow up, work slows down or changes, friendships drift, and before you know it things can feel a bit quieter than they used to.

Man Down is a place to sit with a brew, have a chat, share a laugh, and talk about real life - no pressure, no judgement.

And it doesn’t stop at the weekly/fortnightly meetings 💪 Once you’ve been along to Man Down, you’re invited to join the Man Down app. Giving you a space where you can connect with other men who share your hobbies and interests. Whether that’s walking, fishing, running, DIY, music, or just getting out for a coffee, it’s about finding your people again.

Man Down isn’t about labels. It’s about belonging.

If you’re a man looking for good conversation, genuine connection, and a welcoming group of like-minded men, you’ll be made very welcome.

Let’s talk about it
