Man Down UK is looking for compassionate individuals to help facilitate our peer support meetings. By volunteering your time, you’ll play a vital role in supporting men who are struggling with their mental health, providing a safe space for them to open up and be heard.

If you’re passionate about breaking the stigma surrounding men’s mental health and have the qualities we’re looking for, we’d love to hear from you.

Nothing in this world can torment you as much as your thoughts 💛🖤

Let’s talk about it

Unhelpful thoughts can be very damaging.

When we take each thought as fact, that’s when life becomes very difficult and a clear view of the future becomes cloudy and bleak.

“I’m a terrible father”

“I’m a burden to everyone”

“No one likes me”

“I’ll never be happy”

All these unhelpful and destructive thoughts can be very tiring and exhausting.

As men we feel weak and helpless when we start to think like this. We instantly shut them down and pretend they aren’t there and put on the ‘MASK’.

Instead of pretending they aren’t happening.

Acknowledge and accept those thoughts, break them down and understand you have no control over them.

Understanding they are not real. Ask yourself for proof of that thought, because most of the time there is none.
