Calories, Macros and energy explained

First up if you’re a big UNIT and scroll right past here... that’s literally the reason why! You’ll eat like a Hobbit - Breakfast, 2nd breakfast, elevenses, brunch, lunch, afternoon tea, dinner supper and a midnight snack! Compared to everyone else’s 3 meals!
So,🤩
A calorie is simply a measurement of energy!!
The point of food is to give us the energy we need in the form of calories to fuel the body and brain!!🍌🍞🍕
Food is for living - living is not for food🧐🧐🧐
Every Cell 🧬 in our body, including the brain 🧠our muscles 💪 - our heart 🫀our lungs 🫁 our eyes 👀 - in fact everything requires energy to operate, to keep us alive and allow us to function normally!
REAL SIMPLE:
⭕️ If you consume MORE calories in the form of food and drink, than calories your body burns you will literally transform into a chunky wanna bun 🧁🧁
⭕️ If you consume LESS calories, than the amount of energy your body burns you will create a calorific deficit and lose weight - transforming into a slimmed down version of yourself! 👏👏

Okay so now Macros - this is not the name of a Roman Centurian! We’re referring to MACRONUTRIENTS
This is the fuel that fuels the machine - if you were a car 🚗 that would be Petrol, diesel, electric - right?? ⛽️⛽️⛽️
In a nutshell all the calories you consume are made up of different food groups 😊😊
📘 Protein
Fish, Chicken, Dairy, Tofu, Eggs
📗 Carbs
Bread, Pasta, Potatoes, Cookies
📕 Fats
Avocado, Chocolate, Butter, Ice Cream
👆🏼 Those 3 ARE your Macros
Protein, Carbs, Fat = Macros 👊🏼
At this point Lisa would say I’m boring her!!😴😴 and I’m repeating myself - BUT THIS 💩💩 is the good stuff and will change your life!!!!!
Right, we know calories in vs calories out (calorie deficit) dictates your body composition and we know the calories are made up of either Carbs, Proteins or Fats (alcohol doesn’t count!)
But not all food groups have the same calorie value!!!! 🤯
📘 1g Protein = 4 calories
📗 1g Carbs = 4 calories
📕 1g Fat= 9 calories
Fat has the most calories per unit!
And our primary energy source are carbs!!!
Any energy not used gets turned into ‘storage’ which in our case is a bigger distribution of body fat around your body!
So, if you are consuming all the calories in the world and contributing to an unequal distribution of energy you’re gonna get BIGGER and if you wanna cut the fat - create a bigger deficit between income and expenditure!!
