🎵 This Little Light of Mine 🎶 I’m Gonna Let it Shine ✨

Happy Sunday✨
Here’s a little candle for you - to light your evening and warm your intentions.

I’ve been yawning all week - how about you? 😴
It seems to be a common theme in many of my classes lately! We’ve even started handing out the Bagpuss Award - remember him? That pink-and-white cat who was always yawning and stretching? 😂

It’s that time of year when nature begins to slow down. The days grow shorter, the light fades a little earlier, and our bodies naturally follow suit - a little slower, a little sleepier. As the evenings draw in, things can sometimes feel a bit… meh.

But maybe this is just nature’s gentle reminder - to rest, to reflect, and to reconnect. To swap the rush for rhythm, and the hustle for a little hush. 🌙

The trouble is, as creatures of habit, once we start drifting out of our routine, we can easily lose the rhythm that keeps our lives feeling full and balanced. And let’s be honest - life (and adulting) can be a challenging thing. Sometimes, on a cold winter’s night, when tiredness magnifies everything, it can feel lonely and our perseverance can start to fade.

So this little candle is a reminder that you’re not alone.
Pause for a moment and think of the people around you - those you support, and those who support you. When you’re feeling weary, frustrated, or just a bit fed up with the world, remember: they’ve got your back… and so have I 😉

Let this little light spark your drive and perseverance - you’re doing great.
Keep shining. ✨

💥 Sports Science Saturday – Sobey Fitness HQ 💥

We were online and live and in the real world!
This morning’s session was Sports Science Saturday - all about combining heart-rate training with strength science 🧠💪

We tracked our heart rates using live telemetry to understand how our bodies respond in different training zones - from aerobic to anaerobic - building both fitness and awareness at the same time 🫀

And when it came to strength, it wasn’t about just banging out the heaviest weights possible - it was about keeping those muscles under pressure.
That means MUPTUT (Muscles Under Pressure, Time Under Tension) - the science of slowing it down, controlling the movement, and really feeling the work 🔥

Even with a few seasonal sniffles and niggling injuries, the gang showed up and put in the effort - proving that it doesn’t matter how fast you move, you’re still lapping yourself off sitting on the couch!🏃‍♀️💪

At Sobey Fitness, we mix science with smiles - tracking progress, sharing laughs, and training smart.

💪 Monday Night Motivation – SobeyFitness FitFam Reboot! 💛

What a great night tonight! 🙌
We were online and IRL - in Studio 2, in Eggbuckland and the SobeyFitness FitFam gang absolutely smashed it!

Sure, there were a few yawns around the room… and not just from the Weekend Away crew! This time of year, as the light fades and our days shorten, our circadian rhythm naturally shifts — so if you’re feeling a bit more tired or flat, you’re not alone.

But here at SobeyFitness, we don’t hibernate — we just shift gears. ⚙️
We recognise the season’s effect on both body and mindset. Wellness isn’t about stopping; it’s about adapting. It’s knowing when to rest, when to push, and how to keep that positive rhythm going through movement, connection, and a good laugh with your FitFam.

And tonight, we finished with meditation 🧘‍♀️ — the perfect way to balance body and mind as we move from the high energy of summer into the calmer rhythm of winter. It helps our body transition, our mindset reset, and our spirit recharge.

Fittingly, today is International Failure Day — and around here, failure isn’t final, it’s feedback. 💪
Every rep to fatigue, every wobble, every “I can’t” that becomes “I did” — that’s where the growth happens.

Here’s to finding our rhythm, strengthening our mindset, and keeping our light shining bright through the darker months. 🌟

What a weekend! 💥🎶

Another boombastic, laughter-filled FitFam weekend away with some of our crew - this time for the Back to the 90s event at Brean Sands! 🕺💃

We’ve been doing these themed weekends for years, and every single one reminds us why they’re such a massive boost for our body, mind, and spirit.

There’s something powerful about being transported back to your youth - it’s like a little bit of time travel therapy for the soul! ⚡
Add in long walks (or paddles!) along the beach for the body, a dip in the hot tub for the mind, and a night of dancing with your mates for the spirit - and you’ve got the ultimate wellness reset.

Big thanks to everyone who joined us and to the wider FitFam for keeping the SobeyFitness community buzzing with energy, laughter, and pure good vibes. 💚

Here’s to the next adventure - because wellness isn’t just about workouts… it’s about connection, memories, and movement.

🎶 This Little Light of Mine 🎵 I’m Gonna Let It Shine ✨

We’ve been away on a FitFam weekend with some of our gang - it was a 90’s weekend, and it’s took me right back to my youth!
Good times, great memories… and remembering those days reminds me just how brilliant life really is.

Even on a dark autumn evening, there’s always a little light shining - it might flicker, it might dim, but it never truly goes out. And it’s in the reminding that we re-mind ourselves, bringing our mind and mindset back into their joined-up, joyful state… and in the remembering that we re-member, reconnecting with the great membership we all belong to - a community of brilliance.

Our minds are powerful tools - able to shift us up or down a gear, depending on how we choose to drive them.

This weekend has been all about moving, laughing, resting, and reconnecting.
And that’s really what this week’s candle is about.

Yesterday we marked World Mental Health Day. Yellow was the colour to reflect a shining light in the darkness - let it be a gentle reminder to re-member and re-mind ourselves; not just to recall good times, but to piece ourselves back together and return to the collective community we belong to.

Because when we gather - whether it’s around a workout mat, a dinner table, or a shared laugh - we remember who we are.
We remember that we’re stronger together.
We remember that connection is the cure.

So tonight’s candle burns for community, for friendship, and for those small, bright moments that light us up from the inside out - especially when darkness seems to surround us.

🕯️ Here’s to remembering the good times - and re-membering ourselves, together.
