Cupping therapy has been a traditional practice dating back to ancient times. This therapy was practiced by the Egyptians and Macedonians around 5500 years ago, and Egyptians later introduced this method to Greeks.
It is a treatment technique that places glass, bamboo, or plastic jars on the skin to enhance circulation, relieve pain, and extract toxins from the body.
This therapeutic process is often compared to deep tissue massage, which is used to break up residual scar tissue gradually and reduce pain in the area. Similarly, cups are placed on the back, shoulders, neck, arms or legs or a specific area where the patient is experiencing pain.
Cupping can help increase blood flow and remove pain which is why many athletes and those with sports injuries commonly use this treatment.
