I always smile a bit when people say “I can just take vitamins in tablet form.”
Technically, yes. But I can also get sushi from a petrol station, cut my own hair in the bathroom mirror and diagnose every symptom I’ve ever had on Google. The fact that something exists doesn’t always mean it’s the option most people actually choose.
In theory, taking vitamin tablets every day sounds simple. In reality, a lot of people start with good intentions and then life gets busy.
Supplements get forgotten, bottles sit in the cupboard, or they’re taken inconsistently. On top of that, how nutrients from tablets are absorbed can vary depending on things like digestion, gut health, medications, diet and lifestyle.
This is one of the reasons some people choose vitamin boosts or IV nutrient therapy instead. Rather than relying on digestion, these methods deliver micronutrients directly into the body, which some people prefer as a more convenient way to support their overall wellbeing alongside a balanced diet and healthy lifestyle.
It’s not about saying tablets are bad, because they absolutely have their place and work well for many people. It’s simply that different approaches suit different people, and sometimes convenience and consistency play a big role in what someone chooses.
At The Body Lab we focus on consultations and personalised micronutrient support to help people look at ways they may be able to support energy, recovery and general wellbeing.
If you’ve been feeling run down or not quite like yourself, it might be worth exploring whether additional micronutrient support could be something to consider alongside your normal routine.
