Tired? Heavy? Foggy?

This week on my podcast (The 50 Year Goddess), we stumbled into something that surprised both of us in the best way:

Rebounding

Yes, the tiny trampoline thing that Goldie Hawn recently went crazy on and totally blew up on Instagram!

Turns out it might be one of the simplest ways to feel & look ten years younger without adding more gym grind to your day.

Here’s what we noticed in just seven days:

better sleep
brighter skin
more energy
less puffiness
calmer mind
happier mood
fewer aches and pains
and a weird but wonderful sense of feeling more in your body

In this episode we break down:
why rebounding works
how it boosts your lymph system
what it does for hormones brain fog and stress
how to start even if you dont own a rebounder
and the fun little hacks that make it feel like play not punishment

If you want something easy, fun and secretly powerful for your health and glow, you’ll love this one :)

🌿 Keto: A Gentle Healing Guide (For Women Like Us)

Anyone who knows me knows I am a keto crazy person.

After years of being very low carb and more recently full keto, I’m genuinely healthier at 51 than I was in my 30s.

I'm consistently calmer, stronger, and finally at peace with food.

The truth is, keto doesn’t have to be harsh or restrictive.

When done gently, it helps your body heal, rebalance hormones, and restore steady energy.

That’s what my new guide, “Keto: A Gentle Healing Guide,” is
a kind, step-by-step way to nourish yourself, not punish yourself.

Inside, you’ll find:

🥑 Simple, hormone-supportive foods
🍳 Easy meal ideas that don’t require perfection
🌸 Encouragement to go slow and listen to your body

This isn’t about dieting. It’s about rebuilding your confidence and energy from the inside out.

Most Americans have at least one chronic disease, yet our dietary guidelines still don’t include a low-carb diet as an option.

Have you tried a ketogenic diet yet?

Microplastics & Midlife: what our bodies are quietly carrying 🧴

Here’s something I never used to think about – microplastics.

Tiny, invisible pieces of plastic that slip into our food, our water, and even our skin creams.

Scientists are now finding them in our bloodstream and organs.

It sounds unnerving and hopeless, but I’m not sharing this to give you one more thing to worry about; I’m sharing it because awareness is power.

For women in our 50s, this really matters.

These microplastics can act like hormone mimics, confusing our endocrine system – which controls mood, sleep, and stress.

So if you’ve felt anxiety or restlessness that seems to come out of nowhere, it might not be “just hormones”. It could be your body’s way of saying, “I’m inundated with stuff to detox!”

And with happier news...

Our bodies are mind-blowing masterpieces; just think for a moment about what they do every second of every day.

And that's why they are more than capable of incredible healing.

But only when we give them what they need. 🌿 And it's not even hard, expensive or time-consuming.

Vitamins and minerals are like gentle allies in that healing.

✨ B vitamins help the liver detox and support our nervous system.
✨ Magnesium calms anxiety and helps us sleep.
✨ Vitamin C and zinc support antioxidant repair from daily exposure.
✨ Omega-3s help reduce inflammation caused by toxins.

When I remember to nourish myself – good hydration, colourful food, quality supplements, and a walk in fresh air every day, I can feel my body loosen. My mind soften. My energy lift.

I'm letting my mind-body do its thing. I'm literally getting out of the way of it working its magic.

We can’t avoid every toxin, but we can rebuild our balance.

And sometimes that starts with something as simple as taking our vitamins with intention—not as another “to-do”, but as a 'low-hanging fruit' act of self-care. 💗

What’s one small way you support your body’s balance each day?

Let’s share – because when one of us finds peace, it can ripple out through all of us.

The Midlife Magic of Omega-3s

As we move through our 50s, our brains, hormones, and hearts start whispering the same message: “Nourish me.” 💛

That’s where Omega-3s come in — small but mighty nutrients that help calm inflammation, smooth mood swings, and keep our thinking sharp and clear.

They’re found in foods like salmon, walnuts, and avocado — nature’s gentle medicine for women in midlife.

Omega-3s also support joint flexibility and radiant skin, helping you feel more grounded, vibrant, and at ease in your body.

Because when your cells are nourished, body, mind and life just work better. ✨

Ever had those sore little cracks at the corners of your mouth that just won’t heal?

Not a good look, right!

That’s called angular cheilitis - and while creams may help, a common root cause is actually low iron.

👉 Women in their late 40s and 50s are especially prone:

Perimenopause can bring heavier or irregular periods, draining iron stores.

Years of stress and caregiving leave nutrient reserves running low.

Absorption can slow down with age, making it harder to get enough from food alone.

✨ Signs your body might be low in iron:

Constant tiredness or “pushing through on empty”

Pale skin or pale inner eyelids

Brittle nails, thinning hair

Dizziness or racing heart

Sore tongue, mouth ulcers, or cracked mouth corners

💡 What you can do:

See your GP and ask for blood tests (Full Blood Count + ferritin) to check iron stores.

If iron is low, your doctor may recommend a supplement — common forms include ferrous sulphate, ferrous fumarate, or ferrous gluconate. These are safe and effective when monitored.

Take iron with a source of vitamin C (like orange juice) to improve absorption.

Avoid tea, coffee, dairy, or calcium supplements at the same time — they block absorption.

Stick with it: iron often takes a few months to replenish fully.

🌿 Everyday support: Load up on iron-rich foods like lentils, pumpkin seeds, spinach, chicken, fish, dried apricots — and yes, even a little dark chocolate 🍫.

Pair with vitamin C foods (citrus, peppers, strawberries) to double the benefit.

✨ Fun fact: A simple switch — taking your iron with orange juice instead of tea — can triple how much your body absorbs.

Have you ever had low iron?

Or found an iron-rich food that helps your energy?

💭 “I can’t switch my brain off at night. I wake up already tired. I just want to feel normal again.”

I hear ya sister!

In our 50s, we all seem to be carrying stress, haywire hormones, and grind-you-down worries on our shoulders.

But honestly if someone tells you to just add an hour's yoga class, or a breathwork retreat, or overhaul your whole diet to paleo, you will punch someone in the throat then combust.

One teeny microhabit that doesn’t feel like like the straw to your camel's back?

Sprinkling seeds into the meals you already eat. 🥣

🌿 Flax → gentle hormone support
🎃 Pumpkin → magnesium for calm + sleep
🌻 Sunflower → vitamin E for skin + cell protection
✨ Sesame → zinc for balance + immunity
💧 Chia → steady energy + digestion

What’s your favorite way to use seeds?

Smoothies, salads, oats?

Yes, I wanna steal your ideas! 💕
