“I’ve left it too long - it probably can’t be fixed now.”

I hear this all the time.
And it’s almost never true.

Your body is built to adapt.
It just needs the right input to start changing again.

I see people every week who’ve been putting up with pain for months… sometimes years.

They assume it’s just “how it is now”.
Then we actually look at what’s going on.
Address the real issue.
And progress comes quicker than they expect.

So don’t write yourself off because it’s been a while.
The best time to start was then.
The next best time is now.

If this sounds like you, message me to book or check availability.
Let’s see what your body needs right now.

3 things people do when they’re in pain… that actually make it worse

If you’ve ever tried to “push through it,” this one’s for you.

Most people do one of these:

1. Rest completely.
Sounds sensible, right?
But if you stop moving altogether, everything stiffens… and the pain usually comes back as soon as you try to do normal life again.

2. Stretch the life out of it.
If the muscle is already irritated, pulling on it even more doesn’t magically fix anything.
Sometimes it just winds it up further.

3. Google it.
And suddenly you’ve convinced yourself it’s the worst-case scenario.
Pain doesn’t need drama.
It needs understanding.

Once you know why something hurts, the plan gets clearer - and usually a lot simpler than you think.

Ever had that moment where something finally feels easier the second you get off the table?
That was the case here - Achilles and glute pain easing straight away.

And that’s exactly why I take the time to work out what’s actually causing the issue, not just chase the sore bit.
A few targeted techniques.
The right approach for your body.
And sometimes you feel the difference instantly.

Whether it’s running ni**les, gym aches, or the usual “I’ve ignored this for too long,” you don’t have to just put up with it.

If you’ve been dealing with something similar, drop me a message and let’s get you moving better.

If January hasn’t gone to plan, read this:

We’re nearly at the end of January.
Be honest - how’s it actually going?

Still training?
Picked up a ni**le already?
Or quietly convincing yourself you’ll “start properly” in February?

Here’s the thing.
Falling off doesn’t mean you’ve failed.

Most injuries I see this time of year aren’t from being lazy.
They’re from doing too much, too fast, on a body that wasn’t ready.

New goals need support.
Recovery.
Better movement.
Sorting the tight bits before they shout louder.

You don’t need a reset.
You just need a small adjustment.

👉 If your body’s already pushing back, drop me a message and let’s get on top of it.

When you’ve spent years in a job like lorry driving, back pain can become a constant background noise.
And then the gym throws in a hamstring strain on top… brilliant.

This client came back for their second session today, and we focused on both — easing the immediate tightness and giving them clear exercises they can actually use day-to-day.

Sometimes it’s hands-on work.
Sometimes it’s the right advice at the right time.
Most of the time it’s both.

And the best bit? They left moving easier than they walked in.

If you’re dealing with stubborn back issues or a fresh strain that’s holding you back, send me a message and we’ll sort it.

You don’t have to ‘just live with it’

So many people I see in Poltimore and Exeter say the same thing -
“I’ve had this for years.”
“It’s not bad enough to bother anyone with.”

But here’s the thing.
If it affects your sleep, your training, or your mood - it’s worth sorting.

You wouldn’t ignore a leaky tap until the kitchen flooded.
So why wait until your back, shoulder or knee becomes unbearable?

It’s not about fixing everything overnight.
It’s about making progress that actually lasts.

👉 Send me a message if you’re ready to stop “putting up with it.”

If you sit all day and train in the evenings, read this

That combo is brutal on your body.
You spend all day hunched forward - shoulders rounded, hips tight -
then expect to switch into “athlete mode” the second you hit the gym.

Your body doesn’t work like that.

If you want to feel stronger and move better, start undoing what your desk does to you.
A few minutes of mobility.
A walk on your lunch break.
A proper warm-up before you train.

You don’t need to overhaul your life - you just need to give your body a fighting chance.

👉 If this sounds familiar and your body’s starting to feel it, drop me a message and let’s get you booked in.

Great first full week back in clinic for 2026 🤍

So good catching up with familiar faces and meeting some new ones too.

Always appreciate the trust you put in me with your bodies.

I’ve got a little availability left for this week if you’re looking to get booked in.

Just a heads up - I’ll be closed from the 20th–26th for a much-needed few days away.

Drop me a message if you want to grab a slot before then.

Don’t rush January if you want your fitness goals to last.

Every January I see it.
People going from zero… to everything.

Five sessions a week.
New running plan.
Heavy lifts straight back in.

And then two weeks later?
A sore knee.
A tight back.
Or something that’s been “niggly for ages” suddenly flaring up.

If you’ve ever struggled to stay consistent with training, this might help.

Progress doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from doing the right things, at the right time.

That means:
• Letting your body recover from December first
• Building back gradually, not all at once
• Sorting small issues before they become big ones
• Actually listening when your body says “not yet”

Recovery isn’t a step backwards.
It’s what lets you keep going.

Whether you’re training hard, getting back into movement, or just trying to feel better day to day - how you start January matters.

You don’t need to be perfect.
You just need to be smart.

👉 If you want help setting your body up properly for the year ahead, drop me a message or get yourself booked in.

If you’ve ever felt “fine during the day but sore at night,” this will help

This one’s common.

You go through the day feeling okay…
then get to the evening and everything starts stiffening or aching.

Why?

Because you finally stop.

Your body’s been holding tension, compensating, and working around something all day - and the second you relax, it catches up with you.

A few things that actually help:
• Light movement before bed
• A warm shower
• Some gentle mobility for the area that usually kicks off
• Spending 5 minutes breathing properly (yes, it makes a huge difference)

Little routines add up.

You don’t need a whole rehab plan to feel better - sometimes you just need the right strategy at the right time of day.

👉 Still feeling sore? Drop me a message and we can get you booked in for a massage

Looking ahead to next year.

As the year starts to wind down, I’ve been thinking about what’s next for CH Massage & Rehab.

Honestly?
More of the same.
Showing up.
Doing the work properly.
Helping more people around Poltimore, Exeter and East Devon feel better in their bodies.

My goal’s still simple - keep people moving.
Make recovery part of normal life, not something you only think about when pain forces you to stop.

If I can reach more people, help them train, work, and live with less pain…

I’m doing what I set out to do.

What’s one thing you want to feel better with before the end of the year?
