👋 Meet Glyn Jepson

Last year, he was diagnosed with stomach and esophageal cancer, but he achieved a remarkable recovery following months of treatment and surgery. Glyn wants to make a difference and give others hope while fighting this dreadful disease. And to do that, he will be cycling 900km to support Macmillan Cancer Support and The Prince of Wales Hospice🚲

Listen to Glyn’s story here 👉 https://youtu.be/YuQRw9KeSYw

If you can donate to this amazing challenge, please do so here at Glyn’s Just Giving page 👇 https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/tour-de-cas
🌟Some members of our team have been working hard in the community to start 2022!🌟

🌳Last week Louise Wrack and Robert Whitaker spent some time collecting Christmas trees for The Prince of Wales Hospice 🌳

Every year the hospice runs a program to dispose of your Christmas trees in return for a small donation to the hospice.

Our team had a blast supporting the hospice and loved the opportunity to play a part in the fantastic work they do.

Today we dropped by the Prince of Wales Hospice in Pontefract to deliver a cheque for £468.90, raised by our nominees and guests at this year’s Love Where You Live Awards.

The Prince of Wales Hospice provides palliative care and support for patients with life-limiting illnesses and their families, helping almost 1,000 local people of all ages each year.

Adrian Greenwood, Community and Partnerships Fundraiser at The Prince of Wales Hospice said: “We cannot thank WDH enough for their kind donation of £468.90. It currently costs around £4 million a year to run the hospice, and this donation will really help towards this and help to support local patients and their families.”

To learn more about how our donation will help The Prince of Wales Hospice, visit their website pwh.org.uk.

Santa has been keeping me busy 🎅😊

The Prince of Wales Hospice is proud to care for and support patients with life-limiting illness. We like to think that we are an integral part of the ‘Five Towns’ community, offering round-the-clock care 365 days a year.

We help over 1700 local people of all ages each year. We don’t just treat patients with cancer either. We deliver optimal care with comfort and dignity to patients with a wide range of life-limiting illnesses with the majority of our patients returning home after their symptoms have been managed. We provide the best possible care we can. We do all we can do – and we can do a lot. Please help us to continue making a difference.

Amanda Hutchinson

"I learnt how important fund raising was to the hospice from a young age as my Grandparents lived very close by. Since then my husband has raised funds for the hospice, completing the Three Peaks, The Great North Run and the London Marathon. My son raised funds for the hospice during lockdown, becoming a Hospice Hero. They inspired me to take my turn. This is my first half marathon and I couldn’t think of a more worthy charity to run for."

Jenny Cawthron, Molly Cawthorn, James Davies and Emily Hulme are all running the Great North Run in memory of Jenny & Molly's Grandad. "This year we are running the Great North Run for the hospice in memory of our Grandad who we lost in 2000. The care the hospice gave our Grandad made an everlasting impression, leading to our family volunteering there for over a decade. Emily's Grandma also worked tirelessly to raise money in order for the hospice to be built. This run will be a challenge for us all, with hours of training put in and injuries we've overcome, but we will give it our all in Newcastle on the 11th September!"

First being that in the past, the Hospice was fantastic in the care the provided for my grandmother as she entered the last stages of her life. The support they provided to my family at the time was great since the. Myself and my wider family have always supported Pontefract Hospice.
As a Headteacher for a Trust in Pontefract we’ve supported the Hospice with many fundraisers, I felt this this was a good personal challenge for myself to hopefully raise the needed donations for the hospice."
