A little update from me…

It’s time for a change for myself and my family which is simultaneously sad and exciting! This is not the end of New Parent Company Dorset, in fact in my new role I will continue to support many new families in another capacity (which I will share with you soon). I need to focus on this for now and I can’t be everything to everyone. Sadly I cannot continue to provide you with the level of support you deserve.

It’s been an honour to work with you and your families and honestly it means the world to me that I’ve been able to be a tiny part of your magical journeys.

I still plan on launching the Tree Babies class with as soon as this rain eases up some! These will be on Fridays at 12.30.

I will continue taking private clients for Hypnobirthing, Pregnancy Yoga and Massage and Baby Massage so do get in touch if you’re interested in more details.

Once I’m established in my new role I hope to re introduce our meet ups and for dads/ partners too!

Thanks again for all your support and loyalty and I hope to catch up with you soon.

Be kind, stay happy and please reach out if you need anything.

With Love to you all,

Kirsty x

If you’re thinking of weaning your baby soon, you’ll want to attend our upcoming workshop with nutritional therapist and baby weaning expert who will equip parents with the tools and information to know:

👶🏼 When their baby is ready for solids
👶🏼 Concerning food allergens and how to introduce them
👶🏼 Important nutrients
👶🏼 How to guide baby to be in control of her feeding so she can decide for herself what to eat, how much and at what pace.

I will also guide you on a bonus Baby Massage demo to help aid digestion, relieve wind and constipation.

During the workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions, share your own stories, and connect with other parents who are going through the same journey. It’s a great chance to gain confidence and build a support network!

How to support your baby’s vision:

👀 Eye tracking - move objects slowly across your baby’s line of vision. This will help strengthen the eye & neck muscles as they turn to track the item.

🪞 Walk around slowly giving babies time to focus on objects you see, such as paintings, trees, lights & the mirror.

🖤 🤍 Toys or pictures that are Black & White / contrasting colours / bold geometric patterns are best for stimulating babies vision.

🤪 Babies love pulling faces, especially when mimicking their parents (mirror play).

🏮 Play with different soft lights.

Sometimes it might seem your baby is staring at nothing or just staring at the wall, don’t worry! It’s completely normal, they are very busy developing their minds.

Head to our blog (link in bio) to find lots of articles on baby play and development ideas

Love ❤️ Creates Love ❤️, not just for today on Valentines Day but everyday. Firstly we need to love ourselves, nurturing ourselves as parents will help us nurture our babies. We are here to nurture and support you. Never be afraid to feel it, say it, and share it. It is what makes us human. Be connected and fully present in love. Tell people you love them, tell them often and tell them proudly, we can never give enough love, to ourselves, our babies and to everyone around us. The world needs love more than ever right now.
Happy Valentines Day everyone ❤️

Tree Babies is a unique concept based on the importance of love, connection and nature and it is scientifically proven that being in nature has a positive impact on our physical, emotional and mental well being.

“Babies thrive out-of-doors. They sleep better, eat better, look better, play better, and learn better.”
Magda Ge**er

Our session will combine a number of key elements that we believe deepen connection to ourselves and our babies following:

✨ Experience Over Expectation
✨ Being Rather Than Doing
✨ Presence Over Achievement
✨ Heart Over Head

You can expect these and much more:

🌲 Community Connection
🌲 Baby wearing
🌲 Mindfulness
🌲 Movement practices
🌲 Forest bathing
🌲 Nature art creation with mandalas
🌲 Stillness
🌲 Gratitude Circle
🌲 Weekly Sharing in a safe space
🌲 Tea Ceremony

Its beauty lies in its simplicity. Its rawness and most importantly a cultivation of a daily practice of presence and gratitude which we believe can be life changing for everyone. Join us in connecting to each other and to our Mother Earth with your babies...classes will launch in March (dates to be announced as soon as the weather gets brighter!). If you're interested in joining us please DM me and you can be added to the waiting list...

You have just grown and birthed a human being so please TAKE YOUR TIME and GO EASY…

The first few days and weeks after birth are precious, new, overwhelming and transformative. Make sure you plan for this time and discuss your wishes with your nearest and dearest. If you decide not to even announce your birth this is okay and totally your choice!

People who care will understand. You are getting to know this amazing new human that is suddenly in your world and this should be respected and honoured.

I love the advice given to me by my midwife (3rd child) that she would recommend spending 5 days in bed, 5 days on bed and 5 days around the bed. This time is allowing you to slowly get into your natural rhythm however that may look for you. This is not to say you shouldn’t move around if you feel like it, or go for a short walk but it allows you not to feel pressured into ‘bouncing back’ or rushing things if you are not ready.

Recovery (regardless of your pregnancy and birth journey) takes time and this is okay. Be patient with your body, mind and loved ones as they need to be with you.

How did you navigate your first few days and weeks into life with baby? Please share below…

Rhythm Over Routine

I read a blog recently that discussed this and it really resonated with me so thought I would share my thoughts.

Throughout my different pregnancies, births and transformations of becoming a mother 4 times (because I feel that every time is absolutely unique) I have been in very different stages, places, and even countries of my life.

Prior to becoming a mother, I thrived on routine for school, work and life, we all do; and mostly we are culturally conditioned to. Structure is definitely needed at times and routine assists with this but when I look back on my first born experience I realise that I definitely went with the flow. Layla guided me, I felt totally connected and this allowed us to sync up, together.

Everyday I would:

🌟 Breathe- I was practising yoga regularly before I become mum and so this taught me to breath mindfully. Yoga helped me immensely in my parenting journey both on and off the mat. This can be done at any point during your day, whilst feeding or doing skin to skin. It really is what connects you to the present moment and allows your nervous system to calm.

🌟 Move- We would get out, walk, swim or kitchen dance. I would ensure that I moved daily.

🌟 Eat well-We ate fresh, nourishing food and roughly the same times every day.

🌟 Rest-Layla was not a ‘good’ sleeper as a baby however, I rested when I could and she slept close to me all the time or while I carried her in a sling.

🌟Nature- This was a huge part of our lives. We lived on a beach so it was easy. I would also explore the jungle, waterfalls and parks and the local wildlife.

🌟 Creativity/Stories/Songs- If we can step away from being adults whilst with our children at times, it allows us to take ourselves back to being childlike. Using our imaginations and getting creative and free everyday was very important to me.

This is taken with permission from my training with Gayle at Blossom and Berry. It shows babies’ hierarchy of needs to highlight that babies don’t only need their primary physical needs met. They also have emotional needs which underpin their mental and physical health. Historically, babies emotional needs were ignored over their physical needs but we now know the two are linked and as important as each other.
In order for babies to thrive to their full potential in life, parents also need to be held, supported and listened to. This is a huge reason why we do what what we do here at The New Parent Company.
