Do you warm up properly? Do you warm up at all?

An effective warm up is essential to reduce the risk of injury, activate major muscles, mobilise joints and replicate the demands your activity is going to place on your body.

I found this really effective overview that outlines each phase, gives examples of what to do and will ensure you’re ready to perform safely and efficiently.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT .sportsmassage

First and foremost, I would like to thank you all for being such valued clients, I have no words to express how humbled I’ve been by your daily support and gratitude. DW Sports Massage has gone from strength to strength in the 6 years it has been open and I can’t thank you enough for being part of that success.

Unfortunately, I must also take this opportunity to inform you about the forthcoming changes to my hourly rates, which will begin on May 1st 2024.

Please know that I have done my very best to hold off on raising my rates this year, but due to increased product costs, insurance and affiliation fees, I’ve had no choice to bring my prices in line with other therapists.

I want to ensure all clients that these price increases will only further enhance the treatment you receive and not impact negatively on the quality of services that I provide.

Thank you once again for your valued support and understanding. I look forward to seeing you all soon 🙏

*There are no hidden costs. All treatments include dry cupping, dry needling, ultrasound, kinesiology taping and rehabilitation programmes as required.

Trigger points formation.

Overuse, general use, training, poor posture, muscle fatigue…

Trigger points need to be treated and released to ensure muscle function is optimised, pain is reduced and good posture is restored.

Deep tissue massage, dry needling and dry cupping all help release trigger points! 💪

Understand your body!

Familiarising yourself with how your body works will improve the way you train, help your posture and increase your knowledge regarding injuries and the various aches and pains we often get.

Specifically training your rotator cuff will stabilise the shoulder, improve mobility and help avoid injury.

Resistance bands and cable machines are awesome ways to isolate the rotator cuff. Check out some of my previous posts for exercise suggestions.
