🎉 A Retirement Party to Remember 🎉

After an incredible 52 years of caring for others, including 44 years at Victory Care Home in Chatham, we held a very special retirement celebration for Julie.

Residents, colleagues, and the whole team came together to celebrate and honour Julie’s amazing career. The room was filled with laughter, heartfelt speeches, and plenty of memories as we recognised the kindness, wisdom, and compassion she has shared with so many over the years.

Julie has been more than a colleague, she has been a mentor, a role model, and a proud ambassador for Agincare. Her legacy of care will live on at Victory Care Home.

✨ A fitting finale to Professional Care Workers’ Week ✨

On the final day of this special week, we celebrated an extraordinary colleague bringing an incredible career in care to a close.

At Monday’s Agincare Heroes Awards, Julie Marrs received our highest honour: the Agincare Hero Medal. This award is reserved for only a select few who have shown truly exceptional bravery, selflessness, and dedication.

After 52 years of caring for others, including 44 years at Victory Care Home in Chatham, Kent, Julie is finally hanging up her tunic.

Starting her career in care at just 17, she has become a true role model and mentor, inspiring generations with her stories, wisdom, and compassion.

Julie has been far more than a colleague. She has been a proud ambassador for Agincare, always championing the values of care we stand for.

While Victory will dearly miss her daily presence, Julie and her husband Derek have promised to continue supporting the home they love.

🚀An exciting new partnership with Talent for Care!

We’re proud to announce a new partnership with Talent for Care to launch a sustainable and accredited Leadership & Management Programme starting in December.

This exciting new programme is designed to elevate leadership across our organisation and the wider care sector.

Co-designed by Scott Jones, Head of Agincare Training, this programme leads to Chartered Manager status and a Level 5 Diploma, aligning with the National Framework for Leadership in Health & Social Care.

🧠 Over 18 months, participants will:

• Build strategic thinking and confidence

• Deepen their impact across teams

• Tackle real-world challenges in care: safeguarding, regulatory compliance, compassionate leadership, and staff wellbeing

We were thrilled to welcome Alessandro Alagna and Simon Daly from Talent for Care to our Head Office, where they enjoyed a working lunch with Agincare Chief Executive Office Raina Summerson and Group HR & Organisational Development Director Dan Steadman, as well as key stakeholders from across the organisation.

🎉 We are thrilled to announce that IT Support Technician Ben Leach has been named Head Office Employee of the Month!

💻 Since joining the IT team in October 2024, Ben has been essential in keeping our technology running smoothly: resolving technical issues, managing hardware and software support, and helping colleagues work efficiently.

✅ He has also been a great help during our company-wide integration of Microsoft 365, ensuring a seamless transition for all teams.

👏 Ben’s dedication, expertise, and supportive nature have been widely recognized. One nomination said: “Ben goes above and beyond and always responds quickly and with a smile on his face. For the IT idiots amongst us, he is extremely courteous and has the patience of a saint. I just wish more people would ‘Be More Ben!’”
