Today is World Cancer Day - a time to stand alongside everyone affected by cancer, and to recognise the strength it takes to navigate diagnosis, treatment, and the challenges that can follow for individuals and their families.

Weโ€™re proud to support people living with cancer and their loved ones: offering compassionate, personalised care that responds to changing needs and helps people maintain dignity, comfort, and as much independence as possible.

To anyone living with cancer, supporting a loved one, or remembering someone today: you are not alone.

1 in 5 people will experience cancer in their lifetime.

๐ŸŸ ๐ŸŸ ๐ŸŸ โšช๐ŸŸ

This is why we need to take action to save lives. Join us on World Cancer Day on Wednesday 4 February, and help create a future less burdened by cancer.

We love this video by Old Friend Club featuring the wonderful Anne, a resident at our Waterside Care Home in Peckham. ๐Ÿ’›

Anne did an incredible job and brought so much warmth, humour and energy to the filming. She was a natural in front of the camera and had everyone smiling. โœจ

Her advice to the younger generation is simple, powerful and still so relevant today: be true to yourself and donโ€™t waste time worrying about what other people think. ๐Ÿ™Œ Itโ€™s the kind of reminder we all need sometimes.

A huge thank you to Old Friend Club for capturing Anneโ€™s spirit so beautifully, and to Anne for sharing her wisdom with all of us. โค๏ธ

Weโ€™re delighted to announce our Head Office Employee of the Month winner: Emily Fraher from our Marketing team. ๐Ÿ†๐Ÿ‘

Emily received several nominations from colleagues and external partners in recognition of her role in delivering a complex digital project that took months of work. Now complete, the improvements are already making it significantly easier for families across England to find and our care services, providing support that is helping to change lives.

From our Head Office in Portland all the way to Nightingale Care Home in Derby, Emily is one of our most well-travelled team members. This has given her a fantastic understanding of our services, how we deliver care, and what families need from Agincare.

Over the past three years, Emily has played an integral role in strengthening how we connect with people who need care and guidance. She has built an excellent reputation across the organisation, including with our Senior Leadership Team, who regularly rely on her judgement and expertise on complex, high-priority projects.

Emily leads on multiple high-profile marketing initiatives, recently including national TV advertising, ambitious mail-drop campaigns, and communications that support our services and teams across the country. She has also played a key role in our events, particularly in our care homes and at the Agincare Heroes Awards, which have received fantastic feedback from families, dignitaries, and key stakeholders.

A major focus of Emilyโ€™s work is making sure our services are clearly presented to the communities we serve. This includes supporting local teams with external signage, brochures and leaflets, and the webpages families rely on to find the right care quickly and confidently.

Within the Marketing team, Emily is known for being calm under pressure, highly knowledgeable, and driven. She tackles whatever needs doing and does so with professionalism and care.

Thank you, Emily, for your outstanding contribution to Agincare. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ’™

We are delighted to announce that Sarah Adams from Edward Jenner Court Extra Care scheme in Bristol has been crowned our overall Employee of the Month.

Sarah is a cornerstone of the Edward Jenner Court team, consistently going above and beyond to ensure the highest standards of care and support for residents.

She received multiple nominations, including from the people we support. Residents have told us that Sarah makes everyone laugh, and many have shared how grateful they are for her help and support and the difference it makes to their day.

One particularly thoughtful example of Sarahโ€™s care stood out. She took a photo of a resident with their family, had it developed, and put it in a frame so the resident could keep that special memory close. It is a simple gesture, but it meant a great deal.

From delivering compassionate, person-centred care to bringing warmth, reassurance and positivity to those around her, Sarah is a fantastic role model.

Congratulations, Sarah, and thank you for everything you bring to Edward Jenner Court and Agincare!
