MMRV is now part of the NHS routine childhood vaccination programme, replacing the MMR vaccine.

It protects against measles, mumps, rubella and chickenpox.

Chickenpox is very common and can sometimes lead to serious complications, so vaccination helps reduce the risk of serious illness as children grow.

You don’t need to do anything — your GP will be in touch when your child is due.

Appointments are available daily between 8.30am and 5pm. All surgeries are by appointment only and can be made by contacting the Practice by phone (01478 612013), in-person or through the online facility.

Routine appointments are usually available approximately a week or two in advance (unless you are requesting a specific GP, which could be longer due to working days or annual leave).

We have a number of appointments with our GP's and Advanced Nurse Practitioner that open up daily at 8am. You will need to call us when the phone lines open to make one of these.

For urgent issues, where no appointments are available, we always have a Duty Doctor on call who will telephone to determine if an emergency appointment or home visit is required.

Please also note that appointments can usually be made either face to face or on the telephone.

Cases of flu are high this winter, so if you’re wondering whether it’s just a cold or you’re floored with flu here’s what to do.

Most symptoms can be safely managed at home. Rest, drink plenty of fluids, and use paracetamol or ibuprofen to ease aches and fever. Your pharmacist can advise on cold and flu remedies.

Antibiotics won’t help with colds and flu as they are viruses – time and self-care are best.

To stop the spread:
💉 get your flu vaccination if you are eligible
🧼 wash your hands regularly
😷 cover coughs and sneezes
