IT SYSTEM UPGRADE

Advance Notice of Disruption to Services – Weds 26th November

A significant clinical system software upgrade will be taking place on Wednesday 26th November 2025.

During the morning we’ll have limited phone and system access, so will be prioritising calls regarding urgently needed medical assistance or non-life-threatening emergencies only; in case of life-threatening emergency, please dial 999.

There will also be limited pre-bookable appointments on this day.

Depending on how smoothly the upgrade progresses, we hope to be taking routine calls again by late morning/early afternoon but if your enquiry can wait, we would kindly ask that you contact us on Thursday 27th November.

We're grateful for your patience and understanding, both on the upgrade day and as the new system is embedded in the weeks following these important improvements.

Please do share this information with friends, family and colleagues who may be registered here at the practice.

Many thanks

The Team @ Portree Medical Centre

Heart Health Check ❤️

We are running some clinics for patients to check their cardiovascular risk factors (heart health). These clinics are aimed at patients who don’t yet have known risk factors and may not attend the medical centre often. You may get a call from us, inviting you for an appointment.

What’s involved? You’ll see one of our practice nurses for a basic health check, including blood tests, blood pressure and weight, and then a follow up call with your results after.

This check-up can help with the prevention of any potential cardiovascular risk in the future.

Don’t be alarmed if you receive a call from us – these clinics are to promote health awareness.

Stay well this winter and help stop the spread😷🦠
📌Take common sense steps to reduce the spread of flu and other similar illnesses by exercising good respiratory and hand hygiene and staying away from others if you have symptoms.
📌Self-care is often the best choice to treat minor illnesses. Pharmacists are qualified to give advice about different health matters, including minor illnesses, so consider speaking to a pharmacist before going to your GP.
📌And if eligible get your flu vaccine, COVID-19 vaccine and RSV vaccine.
