THIS is what women supporting women looks like 💪

A mini festival celebrating the talented, creative, and ambitious women within our local community.

(an incredible women-owned business) generously hosted us for the afternoon, providing space for a women in business market, live music, charity stalls, and even letting us transform their sensory room into a ‘mindful moments’ area for the lovely Monira to host empowering breathwork and meditation sessions.

The fact that we managed to raise £200 for and was the cherry on the top (a huge thank you to the businesses who donated prizes - )

We’ve also got a huge bag of hygiene products for , who work tirelessly to help end period poverty.

The whole afternoon was stunning.

Women making space for each other, supporting small businesses, having open conversations and making authentic connections.

It really captured the essence of why I started Southsea Girls in the first place.

Because deeper than the friendship and the fun, I know first-hand the value of having safe spaces for women.

International Women’s Day isn’t a token celebration or a one-day campaign that’s forgotten about by 9th March; it’s all-year-around activism.

It’s demanding that women are listened to, believed, and, quite frankly, it’s a big ‘f*ck you’ to the systems that want to keep us down and quiet.

I’m SO enormously proud, and so should be every single person who attended and held space for other women in one way or another.

Just over a week to go until GIRLFEST 🥰

An exclusive Southsea Girls event for International Women's Day, celebrating all things girlhood - from creative market stalls and live music, to coffee, crafting and taster yoga sessions; we've rolled all of our most popular, wholesome meet-ups into one, gorgeous afternoon.

We're also proud to support local causes and women's charities, including Free Flow Portsmouth, Endometriosis South Coast, and CoppaFeel!

Haven't joined us before? This is the PERFECT opportunity to start your Southsea Girls journey, just in time for summer! (We'll also be announcing our next round of meet-ups and giving you the chance to get your hands on some earlybird tickets)

Local market stalls run by women in business.

Hosted at a woman-owned business Southsea Play Cafe

We'll also have a coffee and crafting station, a mindful moments room with Monira - Yoga, plenty of opportunities for like-minded women to meet and find their girl gang.

Two whole years of organising events, bringing women together, supporting local causes, spotlighting small businesses, collaborating with independent venues, and watching friendships blossom 🌼

Southsea Girls remains one of the most challenging, yet one of the most rewarding, projects I’ve ever been involved in.

As you’ll probably know (because I bang on about it at any given opportunity), I never planned for Southsea Girls to become this big; these past two years have been an enormous exercise in ‘learning on the job’, and/or ‘learning the hard way’ 🫠

There has definitely been more than one occasion where I’ve hovered over the website ‘delete’ button for the sake of an easier life (and an earlier night 😂)

But then we have events like yesterday… 🥹

A room full of familiar faces and new ones, laughing, sharing stories, taking selfies, swapping numbers, and I remember my ‘why.’ ( will like that one ♥️)

If you can look around your life and you see even one person who is in it because you were once brave enough to take the leap and attend an event, then you’ll know firsthand how important it is that Southsea Girls continues to exist, for all those women who are yet to find their people.

And if you’re a venue or business who have provided us with a safe, welcoming space, a platform or a voice over the past two years, you’ve made all of this possible.

Southsea Girls is literally nothing without those who support us in the wider community.

Thank you for being part of our story.

I think 2026 might just be the best one yet ♥️

PS…We have also got a rather exciting, first of its kind event taking place on Sunday 8th March… more will be revealed soon 👀

SOUTHSEA GIRLS 2026 🙌

We’re (almost) ready to kickstart another year of Southsea Girls with our birthday party on Friday 30th January at the place where it all started TWO years ago!

Year one was a whirlwind; a community that grew overnight, with hundreds of women joining us for events throughout the year.

Year two was equally fabulous, but also my first year freelancing, so fewer events, and a little bit of taking a step back to see what still worked, and what needed changing up.

Which brings us to... YEAR THREE!

🎨 The year of disconnecting from digital, and connecting with conversations through a series of new, analogue-inspired events for slowing down, and embracing the ‘now.’

🎀 The year of collaborating with even more local venues, businesses and brands as we work with more Southsea indies!

🌿 The year of crafty coffee dates, yoga mornings, girl dinners and seaside strolls - more variety meaning more opportunities to meet people and be involved.

🎈... and the year of continuing the Sip & Socials you know and love.

Whether you’re an active Southsea Girl still enjoying the socials, or out in the world embracing the friendships you made with us along the way, thank you for being part of our story 😉

Cosy coffee morning ☕️✨

We’re bringing back our monthly coffee meet-ups ready for hibernation season (because let’s face it, not everyone fancies heading out past 4pm now the clocks have gone back!)

We’ll be at on Saturday 8th November from 9am. Tickets are £5 but include your first drink (so, by the laws of girl maths, by the time you’re there it’s basically free 😉)

The perfect event for newbies, or anyone who fancies a chilled morning of flowing conversations over a hot beverage, and maybe a bite to eat (Elly can vouch for the avo toast!)
