This tradition was founded by Dr Mikao Usui in the early 20th century. It holds no religious attachments. I like to think anyone can benefit from Reiki as it works perfectly alongside orthodox medicine. Reiki is increasingly being practiced in GP’s surgeries and hospitals throughout the country as the medical community now acknowledge its benefits. The relaxing and kind nature of Reiki can be very
helpful to people especially at difficult times in our lives. We can all feel overwhelmed or disconnected, sometimes there is a real sense of isolation, both emotionally and spiritually. We may be feeling anxious, stressed or depressed finding it difficult to move forward in a positive direction. Reiki is empowering – it guides you to make changes that can move you into a state of greater well- being. There are many benefits to Reiki e.g. reduces stress & anxiety, improves sleep, reduces pain, stimulates the immune system, balances emotions and enhances natural healing. Reiki can be beneficial in circumstances that are short term, but can also support people dealing with long-standing conditions, helping to bring comfort, acceptance and a more positive outlook. The process of safe human contact (something we seem to be short of in today’s world) coupled with an hour’s relaxation to disconnect with the outside world and recuperate has been widely proven to have beneficial effects. Animal Reiki
Animals are not able to express their fears or issues verbally so sometimes it’s harder for them to deal with these and release these feelings. This is where problems can occur on an emotional, physical, spiritual or mental basis. Reiki is a very natural, gentle and relaxing form of treatment for pets and equines, since within the animal kingdom, they live and work with energy all the time. Animals do not need a formal introduction on meeting us, it is all an energy interaction. They read our energy instantly and generally will have us summed up almost immediately. Reiki energy can be wonderful for assisting animals who are suffering stress, depression or other emotional issues, since Reiki both relaxes and balances energies within the body. The positive effect on the immune system can aid recovery from illness or injury. Reiki is not a magical cure and is not an alternative to conventional Veterinary care but it’s a natural, calm therapy that is enjoyed by many animals. I look forward to seeing you
