I had a lovely day back in Machen yesterday. A sunny day of ear-wax removal and hearing tests for both familiar and new faces.

A huge part of my job satisfaction comes from just chatting to my patients and getting to know them. Many patients require ongoing wax removal once to twice a year, and I think its important to book with someone that you trust and enjoy visiting. I hope that my patients feel welcomed and reassured in their appointments with me.

I even got chatting and reminiscing about the regular home-baking that a certain neighbour used to bring us when we lived in New Row! Barabrith, Scones, Victoria Sponge, Lemon drizzle... all the best ones. Lets see if my baking can ever live up to these. I'm not holding out much hope - aparrantly my bara brith is still not as good as Carole's!!

An randomly , even a fresh fruit and veg stall in Machen yesterday! I am stocked up ready for healthy eating for half term week !

It was also lovely to see how much is going on at the Village Hall, a great assortment of events to make such good use of a village hub. The children were playing outside in the sun, there were lots of visitors to the forest play area, and it was just lovely to see so many people using the facilities and to be a part of this.
