❄️ I love this time of year ❄️

It's reflective, gentle, slow and cosy. I'm in love with my new studio and sharing classes from here, it's just my little sanctuary and many who have joined the classes have said how welcoming and calming it is. The space really gives you a cwtch when you arrive.

I've been reflecting on my 2026 offering and I'm super excited to announce the next step on my journey here at my Relax&Restore studio . In addition to teaching yoga, qigong and meditation, I'm also very passionate about knitting. I have been knitting for over 30 years and I'm also a knitting pattern designer. I started designing Nordic Knits honouring my heritage of Finland.

One of my great joys is to teach this beautiful handcraft to others, which is so great for wellbeing and connection. During these darker, colder months in my native homeland, we would gather by a fire with cups of steaming drinks, knit and connect. This time of year can feel a little more isolating and it's a great way to stay connected with community.

My first Nordic Knitting Courses in my space start in January 2026 and I will share more information soon. DM or email hello@anjayoga.co.uk to express interest - I only have 6 spaces in each course.

✨️ What's on at Anja Yoga&Wellbeing this coming week ✨️

I hope you had a lovely weekend doing the things you enjoy, embracing the season and getting plenty of rest.

I'm looking forward to another week of lovely classes. The last blocks of the year for in person classes start this week and I'm excited for my first Christmas markets at the weekend!

🔥 Weekly classes:

Things have been a bit stucky recently.... no, I didn't misspell that and I don't even know if it's a word, but that's how I have felt.

Feelings of not being able to see the wood from the trees have been real. I've been stuck in the nitty gritty detail without seeing the bigger picture.

What do I do when I feel like this?
I step back, take a moment and reflect on my values - my core values in personal and business life and see if things feel aligned. It's easy to slip into living in disharmony with our values, especially with all the outside noise and pressure. Every time I sit back and reflect on my values, I remind myself what is important to me and honour this.

On my course Confidently You: Embracing Your Authentic Self, we explore our core values and how they form the basis of exploring our authentic selves. We also dive into the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine and the 5 element seasonal wellbeing model. It's a beautiful journey of discovery and invites you to reconnect with the true you.

Previous attendees of the course have:

🧡 Be Hyggelig mini retreat 🧡

Today was all things cosy and hyggelig sharing a mini retreat with my friend

We gathered to create space, to be yin, to slow down, to connect and to ignite our inner light.

As we turn toward winter, the world around us grows darker, but that darkness is not empty - it's rich, fertile, full of potential. Beneath the surface, life is gathering strength, preparing for the return of the light.

We, too, can draw inwards now - not as retreat, but as replenishment. Each small act of kindness towards ourselves - a warm drink, a walk, a slower breath - becomes a way of tending to our inner flame.

In our loving kind ess meditation today, we invited the exploration of these words:

🧡 May I be safe and protected
🧡 May I be healthy and strong
🧡 May I be at ease and rest well
🧡 May I move through this season with kindness and grace

Leaning into yin

This month, I have a gentle invitation to you. To join me in being more yin, to bring this beautiful seasonal energy into your daily life.

Autumn and winter are seasons where yin energy is dominant. This energy is slow, gentle and invites us to pause. Yin is soothing, cosy and easing - the hygge of yoga practices.

How to be more yin:
🙏🏻 practice yin yoga where poses are held longer supported by props
🙏🏻 spend more time resting - not just sleeping but taking restful, gentle activities. Mine include reading and knitting
🙏🏻 include a pocket of peace in your every day. Be it 5 minutes or longer, consciously pause, notice your breath and just be for a moment.
🙏🏻 releasing or pausing something to create more space for rest
🙏🏻 notice the small glimmers in every day. Today, I enjoyed watching the rain on the window and felt grateful for my warm indoor space
🙏🏻 surround yourself with people who make you feel at peace and grounded

What's on your yin list for this season?

I hold space for a regular weekly yin yoga class on Thursday evenings 18:30-19:30 from the comfort of your home. I also have a monthly online yin workshop - this months workshop takes place this Sunday 9th November 18:00-19:30. The workshop is £14, which is included in your monthly membership if you join as a member (no minimum contracts of complicated systems).
