Congratulations to my homeland, Finland, for receiving the happiest country in the world title for the 9th time in a row!
Here are my top 5 reasons why. It was a real toss up between 1 and 2..... IYKYK
There are many more reasons, but these things win for me:
๐ซ๐ฎ Honesty - Finns are inherently honest and I love this trait. You can trust a Finn and nobody is trying to 'get you'
๐ซ๐ฎ Space - there's heaps of it. For this introvert, it is heaven. Having so much space around for solitude but also the option to socialise is the best balance
๐ซ๐ฎ Trees - I'm definitely a dendrophile and adore being around trees. Not only are they comforting and supporting, they also emit healthy chemicals. I love breathing with the trees.
๐ซ๐ฎ Sauna - there is nothing better than a real Finnish wood fired sauna. My dad's sauna is of course the best, but a close second is here in Cymru ๐ด๓ ง๓ ข๓ ท๓ ฌ๓ ณ๓ ฟ
๐ซ๐ฎ Pulla - pulla is an icon in Finnish baking. It's not just a roll of cinnamon and cardamom yummyness, it is a ritual. Kahvipulla is a term used for having coffee with pulla, a break to pause and to connect.
I baked pulla today to celebrate Finnish happiness and it really made me so content! Lucky students tomorrow and over the weekend who get to enjoy the taste of Finland.
If you want to learn more about Finnish culture, I share wisdom from my heritage during my sessions with in Bala. Next one is saunarauha on Friday 27th March, during which you'll learn about the essence of Finnish sauna culture - sauna peace. More information here www.anjayoga.co.uk/sauna (link in bio)
