This week is Children’s Mental Health Awareness Week, and it feels especially meaningful as we watch our very own Daisy, leader of the Through the Eyes of a Child programme, grow in her understanding of how important it is to recognise and express her feelings 💛 She wanted to share her thoughts in support of this awareness week, using her voice to speak about something that truly matters.
For Daisy, visiting The Anchorage has become more than just a visit, it has become part of her personal journey 🌿 Spending time with the residents, listening, connecting and simply being present has helped her build quiet confidence, deeper empathy and a stronger understanding of her own emotions. In those moments of genuine connection, she feels valued, reassured and proud of the difference she can make 🤍
Across our wider community, the children from St Mary's C of E Primary School, Pulborough also visit The Anchorage, strengthening the precious bonds between generations 🤝 Through these meaningful connections, they learn compassion, kindness and the true importance of belonging, foundations that are essential for positive mental health 🌈
We are incredibly proud to be part of a community that comes together in this way. When schools, families and The Anchorage connect, we create something powerful, a circle of support where children feel safe, heard and uplifted ✨
We are so grateful St Mary's School for recognise the power of these experiences. By encouraging openness, connection and real-life opportunities rooted in community, they are helping to build strong emotional foundations that will stay with our children for years to come 💕
