Here is a bit about Shelly!

Hi, I’m Shelly! 👋 I’m 20 and I work as a Health Care Assistant with CareYourWay—I’ve been here for about six months, but I’ve been in care for just over a year now. I really love my job ❤️ , especially helping clients stay as independent as possible at home. When I’m not working, you’ll usually find me with my family and friends, or at home 🏠 I’ve also been Morris dancing 💃 for 15 years, which I’m super passionate about—I train on Thursday and compete every other Sunday. I’m a bit accident-prone (I somehow injure myself doing nothing!), and I do love a good chat. Fun fact, I love going on holiday but I’m petrified of flying and heights😬

Farndon Soap Box In full swing. 👁

This year, CareYourWay Chester is excited to participate in the Farndon Soapbox Race! Our team is hard at work designing the kart, all in support of a wonderful cause—the Hospice of The Good Shepherd. We're engaging the team to raise funds for this fantastic charity and to make the most of this exciting opportunity.
The event will be held on Saturday, September 13th, in Farndon. We'd love🥰 for you to join us! Throughout the process we'll share updates with photos and videos of our progress with the kart, as well as highlights from the event.

August is Happiness Happens Month, and it's a perfect reminder of the beautiful world.

In the rush of daily life, we often forget to pause, reflect, and appreciate the moment. Taking time to think about where we are, where we’re headed, and how we plan to get there can be incredibly grounding.

That’s exactly what I (Becky) did on Monday—sitting on top of a mountain, simply reflecting. I listened to the wind, the birds, and the footsteps of people passing by. It was a quiet moment just for me, and it reminded me how important it is to slow down.

Life can get overwhelmingly busy, and if we're not careful, it can slip right past us. But taking even a small amount of time for ourselves can make a huge difference.

Self-care isn’t selfish—it’s essential. Giving ourselves space to breathe, think, and watch the world go by helps us recharge and come back stronger for whatever tomorrow may bring.

As you can see from the pictures below I really did have an amazing time. This is your reminder to do something that you enjoy. That one little thing that is for you!

This August, our local teams, clients, and carers have been taking time to enjoy the small, meaningful moments, from sunny walks with four-legged companions 🐾 to peaceful time in the garden 🌱, colourful sunsets 🌅, and even joyful time with loved ones 💕.

It's been a beautiful reminder that happiness can be found in the everyday, and that sharing it makes it even more special 🫶!

With the beautiful weather 🌤 we've enjoyed this week — and in celebration of Happiness Happens Month — we wanted to share some joyful moments captured by one of our staff members and a client.

One of our wonderful clients has a passion for flower arranging. To brighten her day, our lovely staff member Beth stopped by the shop and picked up some beautiful blooms🌹. Together, they spent time arranging the flowers, sharing smiles and laughter, and creating something beautiful😁 — a simple yet meaningful moment that shows how much joy can come from connection and care.
