⚠️ Public Health Alert: Brisbane ⚠️ Positive case confirmed with UK strain of COVID-19

Genome sequencing has confirmed the Queensland case of COVID-19 has the UK variant.

Anyone who has been to the following locations – regardless of whether they have symptoms or not – should get tested and isolate until they receive their result.

Critically, even if a negative test result is received, please continue to monitor for symptoms and get retested if necessary.

Constant zeros- well done Queensland!

Queensland has 0 new cases of coronavirus (COVID-19) today.

There are currently 14 active cases of COVID-19 in Queensland.

Currently, 14 of the active cases are in hospital.

To date, 1,177 people have recovered and sadly, 6 people have died of the disease.

This brings the total number of cases to 1,197.

Each day, total cases may not equal active plus recovered plus deaths, as information for some cases is still pending and will be updated in due course.

In response to the unfolding Covid situation in Victoria, NSW & the recent Queensland threat the Currimundi Family Doctors team has made the decision to increase the level of Covid-19 precautions.

What’s different?
- Access to the practice will be through the second entrance again (skin clinic)
- We will be asking screening questions to patients wanting to enter the practice & booking appointments.
- We will continue to provide phone & video consults
- All patients with symptoms will be seen in one of our negative pressure respiratory rooms.
- Our phones will be off from 12 - 1pm everyday to give reception a chance to do a thorough practice clean and disinfect (twice daily).
- Please do not bring additional family, friends & carers to consults. Where possible, please only bring yourself and/ or child being seen.
-We DO NOT swab for covid-19 but there are lots of options. Please see the link below for how to get covid tested.

The good news:
- Even if you are symptomatic, you will still be seen! For the sake of our other patients and team, give us the chance to do this in the safest way possible.
- Telehealth is an easy and safe way to socially distance while still looking after your health, and it is bulk billed to existing patients!
- We have 5 rooms set up as negative pressure and have had our facilities accredited by the Federal Governments Pandemic Team, to give our patients the safest way of coming to the doctors, even if we see community spread.
- E-scripts (prescriptions on your smart phone) will be available this week for patient convenience.
