Save this one for bedtime 🛏️

No matter how tough things might feel, a moment of gratitude can instantly lighten the load.

Just take a mindful moment or two to think about three things you’re grateful for. That might be something small like:

🫶🏻 A good night’s sleep
🫶🏻 An interaction with a stranger
🫶🏻 Your morning coffee

Or it could be big, like:

✨ A new job offer
✨ Your health
✨ The holiday you’ve got booked

Even on our worst days, we can be grateful for the air in our lungs and the roof over our heads.

A practice of gratitude, especially at the end of the day, can help us to reframe challenging situations and turn them into positives. It also sets our brains and our nervous systems up perfectly for a good night’s sleep!

Short answer: I care because I love what I do! 💗

I am genuinely invested in my clients’ lives and often wonder how they’re doing; how they’re living through tough times, how they’re celebrating through the exciting times!

A client once asked me what I thought about during her reiki treatment; she thought I might just plan what I needed from the supermarket 😆💗 I deeply connect to every treatment I do and I’m fully in it, physically and mentally. In fact, I find them really meditative!

You know people talk about being in their flow? Like they’re so engrossed in what they’re doing that they’re totally and completely immersed? I’ve never felt that in a job before starting my own business. I honestly get to the end of an hour’s treatment sometimes and wonder where the time has gone!

I love giving nurturing time and touch, whether that’s in a reiki treatment, a facial or hair play.

Also, I have always been and will always be a chatter box, as many of you know 😂, (although never during the actual treatment!!! You need silence and rest 🥰) so I always love getting to know more about you all. It’s a huge perk of the job.

I read something the other day that said: “We don’t brush our teeth everyday because there’s something wrong with them, we do it to maintain their health and STOP something from going wrong”.

While I know that’s not exactly profound, in some ways it sort of is. Oral hygiene is a habit we keep on top of without question, but what about other areas of our health and wellbeing?

I’m mostly talking about the unseen stuff, like the state of our nervous system, our emotional health and wellbeing, our hormonal health…

More women suffer autoimmune diseases than men and from my own experience as a Hashimotos sufferer (thyroid health for those who don’t know), I can totally see why.

In so many cases, were the jugglers, the primary caregivers, the people pleasers, the worriers…

We put ourselves so far down on our own priority lists, that we feel GUILTY if we do eventually put ourselves first.

Over time, our bodies can struggle to handle it. The stress and cortisol, the poor sleep, the constant go, go, go all add up. And unfortunately for many of us it’s a tipping point too far!

I sometimes wonder if I’d maintained my unseen health and wellbeing, guilt-free, whether I’d have Hashimotos today?

Let this be a reminder that you don’t need to be in crisis to take care of yourself!

It’s human nature to compare ourselves to others and against expected timelines set by society. But we are unique and individual beings, not here by accident.

When you stop and think about that fact that we’re all just spinning on a giant rock floating through space, it puts into perspective the miracle that is us.

So when we exhaust our energy on the opinions of others we diminish the importance of our uniqueness. Our own magic.

January can really highlight these feelings, but it’s important to look beyond the social posts that make you feel bad about yourself. Filter what you read and look inwards for answers instead.

We all bloom exactly when and how we’re supposed to 🌷

We’ve arrived at another new year and realistically, nothing has changed since yesterday. But yet, things do feel different. Is it because of other people’s expectations, or what we expect of ourselves as we move into January?

It’s ok if you need to move slowly today and if you don’t feel motivated or driven.

Just notice where you are. Be aware of how you feel and don’t judge or put yourself down. Your time will come when it’s right! And then there will be no stopping you 🔥

The start of a new year often comes with an expectation that we should know what we want and be ready to act on it immediately!

But many of us are entering January already stretched. We’re coming straight off one of the busiest, most stimulating times of the year and our nervous systems may still be settling.

When we’re in that state, pressure to change doesn’t usually lead to clarity, it leads to overwhelm, self-criticism, or short-lived motivation.

Sustainable, meaningful change tends to happen when there’s enough internal space to reflect, integrate and make sense of our experience. Not when we’re forcing decisions from exhaustion.

That doesn’t mean growth isn’t important. Living a fulfilled, authentic life requires intention, honesty and a willingness to do the inner work.

But that work often begins with listening rather than pushing. With understanding ourselves before trying to reinvent ourselves.

Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is give ourselves time to understand what we actually need.

So if you needed permission to move slowly into January, this is it right here! 🙌🏻
