and 32 years of personal yoga practice. My classes are ‘Subtle yoga’ inspired, working with the nervous system through postures, breathing, meditation and relaxation to bring about changes that benefit the body and mind. My aim is to pass on the traditions and teachings of the ancient art of yoga to my students. As we move into the New Year I would like to let you know about an afternoon of Yoga and Pilates that I will be running with my friend and Pilates Teacher, Jayne Thacker.

Jayne has over 20 years of experience in teaching Pilates. She currently runs classes at the local Sports Centre and teaches clients one-to-one.

Debra has over 30 years experience of yoga practice and has been teaching classes for 13 years.

We look forward to guiding you through an afternoon of yoga and pilates to help you recharge your batteries and to reconnect you to yourself.

Time to say 'goodbye' 🙏🏼

On Monday night I taught my last class in this hall at Ramsey Junior School.

When I first started my Monday evening classes here, 12 years ago, I never imagined I'd still be teaching yoga all these years later. Let alone still be at the same venue!

There have been many people who have attended classes over the years and I would like to thank you all for sharing this space with me ❤️

In life nothing is permanent, nothing stays the same forever, change is inevitable. Time to move on and embrace the change ....

Mindfulness - mental state of the mind by focusing on the present moment

Meditation - a practice that involves focusing attention to train the mind, achieve a state of calm and increase mental awareness

Mindfulness meditation helps us to focus on what is happening in the present moment. Tuning in to what you are feeling and sensing without judgement. Techniques such as breath work, guided imagery, yoga nidra and mantra repetition can all help to relax the body and mind and calm the nervous system.

The Power of Gratitude 🙏🏼

An attitude of gratitude helps us to appreciate the simple things in life.

Gratitude is a Buddhist practice that helps us to cultivate mindfulness, humility and awareness of our connection with others and our world around us.

Grateful for the support we get from our loved ones and our wider community.

Appreciation for the food we eat, the roof over our heads, the clothes on our backs.

Being grateful for every moment we are given to appreciate life in the present moment.

Mindfulness & the present moment 🙏🏼

Yoga and Buddhism teach us about the importance of being aware of the present moment.

With all of the distractions around us and within us it is hard to bring ourselves into the present moment.

But mindfulness is about awareness of our thoughts, feelings and body sensations. When we start to notice we start to delve deeper and bring about greater awareness.

Mindfulness is a type of meditation where we focus on ourselves:

🥰 Observing without judgement.

🥰 Focusing on the experience, not the outcome.

🥰 Finding greater balance and inner peace

Be more mindful 🙏🏼 🩷
