MALE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED !!!!!!! PLEASE SHARE

Intermittent fasting is an emerging field with a growing range of health benefits including weight loss, better blood sugar regulation, improved hormone levels and a healthier gut. As time restricted eating (TRE) has a positive effect on many parts of the body, including female reproductive systems, there is potential that it could influence s***m production, however, this has not yet been investigated.

This trial involves intermittent fasting for a period of 3 months and assessing s***m quality before and after to look for any changes.

We would provide two free of charge semen analysis, plus MiOXSYS testing for seminal oxidative stress which would usually cost more than £500. https://www.fertilitybristol.com/your-journey/fertility-tests/male-fertility-tests

🚫 Myth: You can only get pregnant during ovulation.
✅ Fact: S***m can survive for up to five days, and the fertile window extends a few days before ovulation. Pregnancy can occur if in*******se happens a few days before ovulation.
Contrary to popular belief, pregnancy is not limited to the exact moment of ovulation. S***m can live inside the female reproductive system for several days, and the fertile window includes the days leading up to ovulation. This means that if you have in*******se a few days before ovulation, there is still a chance of getting pregnant. Understanding your fertile window and tracking ovulation signs can help optimize your chances of conception.

Although the fertile window provides the highest likelihood of pregnancy, it is still possible to conceive outside this window. Every person's reproductive system is unique, and factors such as irregular cycles, hormonal imbalances, or variations in s***m lifespan can influence the chances of pregnancy occurring outside the expected fertile window.
Remember, fertility is a complex process, and it's important to consult with healthcare professionals for personalized guidance on your fertility journey.

Male Infertility and Oxidative Stress -- Did you know that oxidative stress could be a factor contributing to male infertility?

What is oxidative stress? Oxidative stress is an imbalance between the production of free radicals (reactive oxygen species) and the body's ability to counteract or repair their harmful effects. When these free radicals outnumber the antioxidants, they can damage the cells, proteins, and DNA in the body, including the s***m.

Studies have shown that oxidative stress can affect s***m count, motility, and morphology, making it harder for men to conceive.

Can oxidative stress be reduced? By adopting a healthy lifestyle and incorporating antioxidant-rich foods in their diet, men can reduce oxidative stress and improve their s***m health.

🔹 Here are some tips to get started:

✅ Eat a balanced diet with plenty of fruits and vegetables.
✅ Exercise regularly to boost circulation and reduce stress.
✅ Avoid smoking, alcohol, and drugs, which can increase oxidative stress.
✅ Consider taking antioxidant supplements like Proxeed, after consulting with your doctor.

Take proactive steps towards a healthy lifestyle. Remember, small changes can make a big difference in your fertility journey. Prioritize your health and well-being and give yourself the best chance at building a family.

We need a men’s health strategy to address these shocking issues:

👉3 times as many men die from su***de than women
👉Men are less likely to access psychological support
👉Suicide is the largest cause of death in men
👉Men are less likely to survive cancer than women
👉1 man dies from prostate cancer every 45 minutes
👉9.65% of men have diabetes
👉68% of men are obese

A men’s health strategy would allow us to take a holistic, evidence based, positive and gender informed approach to men’s health across their life course but this must include fertility.

Until today, fertility wasn’t included within the all-party parliamentary group’s proposal for a men’s health strategy.

We changed that with a simple conversation highlighting the fact that fertility has a massive impact on a man’s health and all the factors are interconnected.

Fertility causes mental health issues, it causes relationship issues, it causes alcohol abuse, and it can lead to su***de. This is true for men and women of course but we need better support for men.

In the new women’s health strategy fertility support is specifically mentioned which only adds to the societal belief that fertility is a female issue if we then don’t also address it in a male health strategy.

If we look after male fertility properly both the men and the women stand to get much better outcomes.
