Finally after 19 months, our 9000 CSE 2.0t Track car is finished !, renamed the CS-R.
Being so busy with customer cars its been difficult to find time to get this completed and actually start enjoying it. But we are finally there and now time to get some Trackdays booked and let it rip !.
I have now also restored the paintwork which was a large mission in itself requiring lots of flat sanding. There was some extensive Sap damage after sitting under a tree for 8yrs and unfortunately the roof could not be saved. So we have wrapped it in Carbon Fibre and it actually looks pretty cool !.

Here is a complete breakdown on the build as a few people have asked me for this already, so here it is. Ive probably missed some things but its mostly here.
Fully strip the interior back to a bare shell internally, except for dash.
Remove everything that will not be needed for a track car, ie Stereo, speakers, headlining, all sound insulation..
All standard suspension removed and binned.
Fit Polybushes on all front and rear suspension.
All new Bilstein Balljoints, Track rod arms, Drop links.
Fit Koni Adjustable shocks and Jamex lowering springs.
Fit 19mm Aero ARB’s and also double up with the Abbott Racing Piggyback ARB.
Abbott Racing front Strut tower brace.
New EBC Rear discs and Ultimax2 pads.
Front brakes converted to late 9-5 Aero Calipers and Brembo discs, with EBC Yellow pads. Motul 660 race fluid used.
HEL Braided brake and clutch hoses.
Dash cluster removed and refurbished.
ACC unit, Headlight relays, Central locking and flasher relays all removed and refurbished.
Early non-airbag Steering wheel support bracket fitted and Momo hub adaptor.
Steel adapter plates made and Sparco race seats installed, with both factory belts and 4 point Sabelt race belts.
Sparco alloy pedals installed.
Install additional interior instruments. Oil Pressure, Oil Temp, Boost pressure. Knock and Shift LED’s. Switchgear for switchable mapping, Oil cooler fan and intercooler fan operation.
Interior CANBus 9 pin serial cable for live in-seat mapping on the road / dyno.
Bluetooth OBD2 and Dash Comander for live sensor data display.
Team Dynamics 7.5” x 17” wheels with Accelera 651 Sport tyres.
Fit full “Aero” bodykit.
Remove front fog lights and custom make Air Ducting for the fog light holes to direct cold air onto the front brake discs / calipers.
Lanogaurd the whole chassis / suspension front to back.
Fit 1980’s 9000 Carlsson bridge spoiler to CS hatch.
Cylinder head removed and head fully refurbished. Port / gas flow all ports, and also port match both inlet and exhaust manifolds. All valves lapped and new seals fitted. Volvo T5-R valve springs used. 9000 B234i Inlet cam fitted.
Throttlebody gas flowed and diameter enlarged. Entrance had been “Bell-mouthed”. Delete throttlebody heating.
TD04-19T Single Scroll Turbo with Anti-Surge from Mamba Tek Taiwan, with custom 3” V-banded downpipe, and full 3” V-Band exhaust system, Abbott Racing 4” rear box only with custom V-Band mounting.
Downpipe and most of front section pipe all heat-wrapped.
Custom 3” Turbo intake pipe made, with 300mm long air filter inside wheel-arch.
Spartan2 Wideband controller fitted with Bosch wideband sensor. Hard wired into Trionic5 ECU to enable live fuel table changes.
Motorcylce Rad cooling fan fitted to Oil Cooler.
Slim hi-flow fan fitted to intercooler. Intercooler has been re-crimped and end tanks strapped with stainless steel straps.
All high pressure boost pipes wrapped in gold heat reflective tape.
Intercooler, Radiator, and Oil cooler rad, all “Edge Sealed” to improve air-flow through heat exchangers.
Battery relocated to rear of car.
B234 Flywheel fitted and new Sachs Aero clutch.
Alternator and Starter motor both removed and rebuilt by “Burghfield Starter and Alternator center.
New Belt Tensioner, pully’s and Belt.
All vehicle grounds removed, Ground clean, and refitted. 14 Grounds.
Line inside of bonnet with gold heat reflecting tape.
All “plastic webbing” cut out and removed from original Saab front Grill to improve airflow to Rads.
Full A/C delete.
New Heater matrix.
Bosch 470cc injectors.
Bosch 3 Bar Map Sensor.
Converted to T8 APC.
KEMSO 360 LPH fuel pump, and new Bosch fuel filter.
My own custom Switchable Mapping to give 170bhp / 250bhp / 355bhp. Rev limit of 6,600rpm.
