Jumped on the AI band wagon and creates these last night.

Just goes to show that everything we see isn't always true.

If you would like the exact prompt I used comment below and I'll send it to you.

Worried your toddler is “behind”? Try asking these 3 questions before you panic 👇

1️⃣ Is this actually outside the normal developmental window?
Lots of skills (speech, toilet training, sharing) have a wide “typical” range. Some children are ready at 2, some at 4 – and both can be completely normal.

2️⃣ How is their nervous system?
A child who is hungry, tired, anxious or overstimulated will struggle to learn new skills. Regulation comes before learning.

3️⃣ Are they getting tiny, low-pressure chances to practise?
Short, playful moments work better than big “now we’re going to teach you this” sessions.

As a Family Support Worker & Early Years practitioner, I promise: development is a journey, not a race. 💛

If you’re unsure, speak to your HV/GP – and if you’d like gentle support at home, that’s exactly what our Mumease team is here for.

Self-Employed Mumease Family Support Worker (Ad hoc / Part-time)
📍 Reading / Berkshire | 🕓 Afternoons after 4pm especially needed

Mumease is a practical, supportive service from Our Story & Co. — created for parents who are overwhelmed, isolated, recovering postnatally, or simply need a steady extra pair of hands.

While we often support parents with newborns and babies, we also support families with toddlers and school-age children — especially during those busy after-school hours.

We’re growing our team and looking for warm, reliable people who want flexible hours without a rigid rota — often a few hours here and there, fitted around your life.

If you’re the sort of person who loves making a real difference to a family’s day-to-day life, I’d love to hear from you.

A gentle festive reminder 🎄😅

If you love a stressed parent this Christmas…
please don’t hit them with:
“Just enjoy it!”
“Make it magical!”
“They’re only little once!”

Because for many parents, December isn’t a vibe.
It’s a full-body endurance event
with tinsel.

What does help?
✨ “You’re doing loads.”
✨ “You don’t have to host me.”
✨ “I can drop food round / take the kids for 20 minutes.”
✨ “Let’s keep it simple this year.”

The goal isn’t a perfect Christmas.
It’s a supported parent
and kids who feel safe and loved. 💛

If this made you laugh or feel seen,
give it a like so more tired parents find it.
Tag a friend who’s in festive survival mode
or share it to your stories as a little permission slip. 🎄✨

Before you decide your toddler is being “naughty”, run through this 3-second checklist 👇

🔹 Are they tired?
Most meltdowns happen when little brains are hanging on by a thread.

🔹 Are they hungry or thirsty?
Behaviour is often blood sugar in disguise.

🔹 Are they overwhelmed?
Noise, crowds, bright lights, too many instructions – small nervous systems get flooded easily.

If the answer to any of these is yes, meet the need first.

Then, when they’re calm, you can teach, guide and set boundaries.

This is how we approach behaviour in our Little Buds toddler sessions and Understanding Emotions workshops – nervous system first, behaviour second. 💛
