Happy Beltane to all ###

It’s back! Often confused with a daisy, Wild Chamomile is one of my favourite wild plants to forage. With its calming fragrance, it’s something I like to dry and offer at my wild women sessions as a gentle, relaxing tea. I thank Mother Earth for her offering when respectfully foraging and only if 100% sure of the plants identity and make people aware of any contraindications to taking them.

Busy session at Enham yesterday. Tree identifying, woodland wind chimes and damper bread over the fire pit.

It is said that in the language of flowers, the bluebell is a symbol of humility, constancy, gratitude and everlasting love. In folklore the Fairies would hang their bells on the flower and low betide those that shake them! To me they are a beautiful symbol of spring - blanketing the woodland floor and bringing gasps of wonder as they spread far and wide.

Wild women - we reflected on the women we are and will become, spent restorative time together and crafting, enjoyed wild garlic and cheese scones and nettle and lemon cake. Watched the sunset over our held space. We left feeling both energised and calm ready for the days ahead x

I get so excited when the dandelions start to show. The sea of yellow on a sunny day reminding me of when I was a child. When my mother would warn me that they would make me wee! It is the sap of the stalk that has diuretic properties. The petals have many nutritional benefits. And yes it actually smells and tastes like honey!
