🌿 What to Expect in a Bowen Therapy Session
Bowen Therapy is a gentle and effective treatment that helps your body heal and restore balance. Here’s a breakdown of what to expect during your session:
1️⃣ Comfort First: You’ll be asked to wear light, loose-fitting clothing. If needed, you might be asked to partially expose certain areas of the body (like your neck or back) to help target the problem areas.
2️⃣ Positioning: Whether you're lying on your back, sitting, or lying on your side, I will adjust your position to suit the areas being worked on.
3️⃣ Gentle Touch: Using my fingers, I’ll apply gentle rolling movements to specific points on your body, often targeting the neck, back, and other key areas. It’s a rolling technique, where the skin, fascia, and muscle tissue are gently lifted and stretched between my thumbs and index fingers.
4️⃣ Pressure & Feedback: The pressure will vary, but it’s always gentle. Feel free to give immediate feedback if something feels uncomfortable—I want you to be as comfortable as possible!
5️⃣ Healing Time: Between sets of movements, I’ll leave the room for 2-5 minutes to allow your body time to respond, heal, and focus on its natural healing process without external distractions.
6️⃣ Repetition & Adjustments: I’ll repeat certain movements and adjust the therapy as needed to get the best results for you.
After your session, I’ll provide self-care advice, like increasing water intake, and give lifestyle recommendations. 🌱 It’s common for your symptoms to change during or after treatment, and you may feel a shift in the coming days!
