Back on the grid.
Reflecting on my time away from social media.
I found I felt disconnected from those who I use insta as a way of communicating with. And felt sad sometimes to not be sharing special moments with others who I don’t get to connect with away from social media.
I didn’t miss the doom scrolling.
I did find myself still on my phone but using other things like Vinted, lol and looking through old photos.
Next time I will try a complete device detox as I was surprised I found myself reaching for my phone even though I wasn’t going to be “doom scrolling” I found myself mindlessly scrolling through other apps!
They purposefully make these devices addictive and impulsive and I felt empowered to be taking a step back.

My plan going forwards is to cap my limit to 1 hour a day. And to make a conscious effort to dig myself out of the doom scrolling hole before I get too deep!
And to be productive and just stay connected with those who matter, not finding myself down a rabbit hole!

On the whole I didn’t massively miss it and I wasn’t chomping at the bit to get on it.

I actually felt anxious about coming back on but my challenge now is to be productive and conscious with how I use it!

Did you give anything up for lent?
Have you changed a habit recently? How did you find it?

Now to catch up on some of your news :)

Hope you had a Happy Easter! 🐣

I was wondering whether to give anything up for Lent this year and while talking about it to hubbie on holiday while we were in the hot tub (lol) this is the one that felt right.
I can sometimes find myself doom scrolling, especially after a tough bedtime with Rowan. So I am going to see if I can create new habits without always falling back to doom scrolling.
I am always mindful not to be on my phone in front of Rowan. But I still somehow manage to waste so much time once’s he’s asleep mindlessly scrolling away when I’m sure I could be doing something way more productive!
Anyways, here goes!
40 days without social media.
See you on the other side 👋🏻

Do you reckon I’ll miss it? Let’s see!

Throughout December I am raising money for I am doing their 24 mile challenge.
Where I can, I am running and walking 24 miles in December no matter what the weather!

The RNLI is a charity close to our hearts- Rowan loves lifeboats and we admire the amazing work all the volunteers do to help save lives at sea! They do not receive government funding and rely on public donations. The reason it’s a 24 mile challenge is representing how lifeboat crew are called out 24/7, even in winter, at Christmas and especially in very challenging conditions!

I’m determined to get out in December even in rubbish conditions.

First week done and I’m on 10.8miles.

If you would like to donate, head to my page: (will put link in bio)

Thank you 🥰

When I first received an e-mail to say I had been the chosen Rising Star from The College of Osteopaths this year, I was quite shocked and taken aback. I certainly wasn’t the most academic or highest scorer and I was surrounded by amazing student osteopaths and so it took a while for it to sink in that I had been chosen as the college’s rising star ⭐️
I am very grateful and proud to have been recognised as a Rising Star and would like to thank all the amazing tutors and clinicians for believing in me.
I’m very proud to call myself an osteopath and cannot wait to see what the future holds for osteopathy and my career ahead of me. ❤️

Yesterday was my graduation day which was a pretty big deal! I’ve never done a degree before and before I embarked on a degree as a mature student, I had many a naysayer, I had doubt, uncertainty and lots and lots of indecision (IYKYK!)
However, fast forward 7 1/2 years and here I am. VERY VERY proud of myself. I was tearing up walking across the stage because I was so full of pride to have finally got there.
I persevered despite a pandemic, meeting my husband and having a baby, moving abroad and relocating in the U.K..
It was made possible by the support I had from my family- Rob, my parents, my sister, Rob’s parents. Who all chipped in with childcare so that I could get my hours done in clinic, I spent every other weekend away from Rowan for the last year.

But I finally made it and do you know what? It was totally worth it!

Proud to be an osteopath- and part of the wider osteopathic community ❤️

A particular shout-out to Emma Simmonds my tutor who has been there for me since day 1. I’m not sure I would have persevered without you 😘❤️
