Check Out Helen Dolphin’s Top Travel Tips with the eFOLDi Navigator
✈️ We’re delighted to have recently chatted with disability travel advocate Helen Dolphin MBE about her travels to Europe with her eFOLDi Navigator.
Here's what Helen had to say
🌍 Favourite destinations?
I really enjoy city breaks in Europe. Recently I’ve visited Prague, Budapest, and Bamberg. While there can be challenges as a wheelchair user, I loved discovering the rich history, admiring the stunning architecture, and enjoying the local food and drink. Each city had its own unique charm, and I found the experience incredibly rewarding.
🧳 How do you prepare?
Helen keeps it simple:
✔️ She packs a charger and a bungee cord to secure her power chair in transit
✔️ Notifies airports in advance to book an ambilift
✔️ Books accessible hotel rooms, often without even calling ahead
🦼 And what do you think about the eFOLDi Navigator?
“It’s been great! Staff love how light it is, and I can disassemble it in under 30 seconds. It’s compact, zippy, and perfect for getting around duty-free shops!”
💡 Helen’s top tips for fellow travellers:
Know your chair’s specs such as battery, weight, and dimensions
Pre-book airport or train station assistance
Use tools like the Passenger Assist app and Booking.com to find accessible options
Always carry a small repair kit, just in case!
🌟 What's Your Final advice for first-time travellers with a power chair?
“Go for it! There’s really nothing to worry about, you’ll have an amazing time.”
