Allergy Mum rant of the day - at school age a child with severe allergies is entitled to 4 epipens, to basically keep them alive should they have a severe reaction. I have been trying to order ours for a month for them to be out of stock. A pharmacist finally told me on the weekend that they are in fact out of stock nationally until the end of October. A second pharmacist at another location then told me that there is an alternative brand called Jext. So hours on the phone later to the allergy team, the GP, the dispensary team, the pharmacy - they are also out pretty much everywhere but we may be able to get some on an emergency order tomorrow.

It's just not good enough. How are we supposed to safely send our children to school, or even feed them for that matter, without having life-saving medical supplies at hand? Absolute bo****ks.

Fab day for all the family. Surprisingly I think our 11 month old loved it the most!
We didnt eat here so can’t comment on its allergy friendliness- but there are a couple of picnic areas, one with a sea view, if you do want to take your own food

We went up to the National Marine Aquarium at Plymouth, and stumbled upon this absolute treat of a restaurant just outside of it.
was amazing for our . They have a separate menu that lists all allergens and they both enjoyed a fish and chips with gluten free batter, which is allergen free! Followed up with a vegan and nut free elderflower sorbet.
#5 stars all round!

We are camping at Stithians for a couple of nights to catch up with family who are over from Australia - needless to say the weather has been horrific and everything in the tent is soaked! We have had to pop home to dry the bedding before heading back.

This morning I took the kids solo in to to get some shelter from the rain and grab a well deserved coffee - I couldn’t have been more surprised!

Loads of vegan and allergy friendly options! We shared a cooked breakfast, with extra bacon for the kids and the eggs on a separate plate for me. We also shared a smoothie.

The breakfast was outstanding, definitely the best I’ve had in Cornwall, and actually I’m struggling to think of a better breakfast I’ve ever had. Perfectly cooked bacon, delicious sausage, the home made baked beans were incredible. It kept 3 hungry children still and relatively quiet - and cheered my morning right up!

Outstanding. Thank you! Imagine we will be back tomorrow morning 😂

Our first trip this summer to for strawberry picking.

I’ve been here many, many times and it is possible to do it alone - even with 3. Do need to make sure they’re careful on the car park though!

We had lunch first and there were 6, yes 6 options on the kids menu they could have!!! Including them make up a fresh batch of fish fingers for the kids. Delicious!

We enjoyed a stroll around to see the animals- and then the main event! Strawberry picking! They also have some lovely ice cream and sorbet for hot pockets after.

Another family meal. Tonight it’s a chicken noodle soup or ramen if you please.

4 x chicken thighs cooked with ginger, garlic, stock and some large bits of celery to add to the taste. Then soya sauce, mushrooms, broccoli and carrots are added, and coriander for me!

An easy one pan supper for our daily of five.

A BBQ of sorts for tea tonight. Sausages and pork belly - both dory and egg free. A build your own salad plate, corn on the cob, oven roast new potatoes with garlic and mint, and a fruit platter - which they gobbled up most of before I got the rest out!

One meal for us all! 7 month old, 2 year old, 4 year old - older 2 both have confirmed dairy and egg allergies, so finding one meal we can all have is a challenge, but the only way I can cater for us all.

A fabulous first camping trip for our family of five!

We headed 40 minutes away and spent 2 nights at campsite near Penzance. Sea views, woodland walks and a stream to paddle in. It was perfect for us.

Facilities included a toilet and shower block, a kitchen with fridge/freezer for meat & dairy (and cooling drinks), washing up, a great play/events room for bad weather - which thankfully mostly missed us.

It was very quiet on-site with only a couple of other visitors there. Perfect for us and our rabble. There are also swings and a stream to paddle in, and woodland walks.

We took our and had a feast both nights! Chorizo, pork loin and steak were all perfect on the bbq! And I cooked the new potatoes before we left to have with salads and made some couscous there. Kids also enjoyed oat milk hot chocolate and toasted marshmallows.

A little piece of heaven for the weekend!

Fajita Friday!

Beef mince, onion, celery and peppers from All sautéed and then coriander, paprika, cumin and ginger added (or Chuck in a pack of spice mix).

Served with refried beans, vegan cheese and crudités. Kids build their own and it’s all enjoyed by everyone!

This weeks adventure was to . Another solo trip with the 3 kids in tow.

We had an amazing day watching the penguins being fed, the flying birds show, seeing otters and flamingos. The kids also loved the couple of play parks there, and we spent a lot of time in the one off the main picnic area.

Lots to see and do, although it is one of the more expensive local attractions to visit - but you can buy a return visit for £6 and keep doing that over the year so it does balance out.

We also bought some sheep and goat food for 50p and went on the train ride for £1 each.

We again took picnics and there are plenty of lovely places to eat one - although watch out for the seagulls! They are brazen!

The cafe is lovely and has a great range of sandwiches, sausage rolls and pasties although I don’t think anything was suitable for the kids and their allergies.

We did have some lovely ice creams though and I was delighted with an iced oat milk coffee!

There is softplay there too but I can’t manage it alone with 3 so I just didn’t mention it 😂.

A lovely day and easily doable with 3 under 5 alone!
